I really despise the lack of used 1Ms in the market place! That and the lack of colors. An imola red 1M would be the cats pajamas. I hate that I'll never be able to get one.

That said, the new 2er really is a great all around car. Can't wait for the gran coup to make it's appearance.

Very well done video. I like that you told a story with it visually, instead of yet another wordy comparison of specs.

Lol clearly you weren't paying attention to the fact that the M235i is more refined and can pull the same straight line numbers in a straight line all the way up to 125mph. The 1M was a dedicated track car, whereas the M235i was made to be track ready, but DD.

The one to put both of them to shame is the M2, but this is obvious because again it'll be dedicated to be a track ready car with new tech available these other two cars didn't have.

Agreed - the 2er is a very good looking car, but something about the proportions can make the car look "under-wheeled" with the stock 18s.

Since I have a 235, I have looked at the car from a million angles, and sometimes the stock wheels look great. But sometimes not big enough. A slight drop and 19s, and this car looks great.

Nice comparo to the OP - love the 1M.

I was originally interested in the M235i but felt so cramped once inside one at the dealer. That and the front end styling just didn't do it for me.

Move along sir. Nothing to see here. Sounds like you need to check out the 3 and 4 series that BMW has enlarged for you.

m235i looks great.

not sure why so many people get all bent out of shape about the spare-parts-bin 1M

M2 will be a real car.

This. The wheels look so puny. A drop coupled with 19s would probably fix it. That's my main gripe about the way the 2 series looks.

I caption this - the legend meets the imposter to the throne.

While the M235i is a fantastic car - the true successor of the 1M arrives later this year.

I very nearly got flamed out of the 2Addicts forum for asking this very question. Nice to see there's a video that shows how amazing both of these cars are.

They're like professional Ultimate Fighting Champion/Sumo Wrestling/ Nathan's Hot Dog Eating-contest winning Supermodel sisters who like to party.

M235i looks really good unless you put an 1M next to it Then you realize that M235i is a bit to narrow and has a bit to small rims. Yup, 1M is a real badass

correct - there's no way the 235 can compete with the insane looking (in a great way) 1M.

The M2 vs. 1M will be a more fair fight.

Great pics regardless...

Why does every thread like this have to turn into random posts that put down one car or the other?

THEY ARE BOTH GREAT!

Thanks for sharing OP.

Good friend of mine has the same 1M, and mine is EB M235. Love em both! M235 is more DD, 1M is more taught and a bit bonkers :P
