Hi.
So i have a 2021 m240. i know i need to send my dme to finland to get unlocked. but out of curiosity what would happen if i were to swap in an older DME from a 2017 m240. same car just different years.
And if your wondering why specifically 2017, I may have already bought that dme just been to scared to try the swap. any input is appreciated.

Did you just get the ecu?or the fem and key as well?is yours a rwd or awd?

Not sure if it's possible in your situation, since the used DME would need to be reprogrammed or cloned from your current car. Would you end up with 2 locked DMEs?

Doesn't work that way more you'd need to clone your dme.. you're better of just paying to unlock it..

Yes it’s a more expensive option but you won’t have to worry about DME getting relocked with a dealer update
