Are F22 front headrests the same as F20/21 and F30/31?
Someone's hair product smudged the paint on one of the front headrests in my F22. The prices I'm seeing for a repair aren't cheap, and there's no guarantee the repair would be seamless.
On eBay, I'm seeing used front headrests that I may as well just get and swap out. However, they're mostly for F20/21 and F30/31 cars. I think being a less common color (coral red) might contribute to the lack of stock. Does anybody know if the front headrests in the F22 are the same as those? If not, does the F22 share headrests with any other BMWs, so I can snag one of those if I find one? Thanks. |

From the compatibility list, if 52107372857 is the part number, only the 2-series coupe and convertible use the same headrest: https://parts.bmwnorthwest.com/p/BMW...ner=googlebase
USD $135 for a used one on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/p/2131497159?iid=252718502253 |

3 series is exactly the same, but with a button to adjust the rake of them.
Wow, I want adjustment. So I spent a long time on ebay looking for a deal (they were quite expensive). Finally found a steal price that were actually not broken, and put them in. Only way to even have them touch my head was to leave them in the exact same position as the 2 series ones I replaced. I drove around for a while feeling like a tool for wasting time and money. Then the first time I autox'd the car, I got in with my helmet and I'm like WTF there is no room for a fucking helmet in this car with the headre...... wait I have a button. Pop they raked back and plenty of room for a helmet. So yes the 2 series you have will slide out, and the 3 series slide right in. Only difference is the button that adjusts them. Strong advice: when that button breaks, you cant buy any parts to fix it from BMW. So people with a 3 and broken button have to buy a whole new headrest. Then they sell the broken one on ebay. There is no way to fix it, so beware if you buy one with the inside snapped and no button or nonworking button, it will flop around and be useless. Skip the listings with a missing or obviously skewed button. Or ask before bidding. |
