New Key won't pair due to Anti theft

Not entirely sure if this is the right thread to be posting in but I just recently pick up my new replacement fob for my 2014 228i, and upon opening the door with the internal key blade I was met with the flashing lights and siren, any idea's on how to circumvent this?

I know on all my older cars disconnecting the battery, waiting 10-15 mins will do the trick but being this a newer car will the have any consequences? I don't see any other way of disabling it as I don't have access to the original fob anymore (destroyed, don't ask lol).

The car was locked and anti theft enabled when the original fob was destroyed so my guess is the car still thinks it's "locked" even though I open it with the internal blade.

This is preventing me from pairing the new fob and getting the car mobile. Any solutions are greatly appreciated.

Have you followed the activation steps for the key here? https://www.bimmer-tech.net/blog/ite...remote-key-fob Assuming the key has been correctly pre-programmed for your car, as stated in the above link "The above activation methods assume you have a new key fob ordered from an authorized BMW dealer or third-party reseller, such as BimmerTech, which was made specifically for your vehicle based on its VIN. These methods will not work with a used key fob, or one intended for use with another vehicle. The majority of key fobs available for sale through online marketplaces such as eBay fall into this category."

If that doesn't work, probably will require towing to a dealer or BMW specialist if you don't have access to ISTA to re-program.

Sorry, I didn't mention this fob was purchased from the dealer. I don't think it's the fact I'm not activating it properly, I think the anti theft is preventing me from activating it. The car was locked and when I opened it with the key blade the alarm system went off. I'm just curious if it can be reset so I can activate the fob?
