New wheels look pretty darn good. Especially the 719 bi-color wheels. Not a fan of the fully blacked out version though.

I think the spokes appear too thin on these wheels...look like they belong on a Corolla or something. I like fatter spokes for a bolder design statement.

+1.

I think the wheels look great when looking at the up-close shot but the spokes are too thin and they look like bicycle wheels when looking at them from a little further away.

Digital dash as standard is a pretty big disappointment. I really don't understand the infatuation with them, especially when it's just a digital image of an analog cluster. But perhaps I'm too much of a purist these days for modern cars.

Don't like the design of the new headlights, but I like that they have an adaptive LED option. I like the new tail lights and having the touch screen on the NAV...

Outside of that, the other changes I could take or leave... I just wish they would have put an option in for oil pressure and engine temp.. But that would also piss me off a bit that my 2017 is here now..

Aside from the wheel options this doesn't make make me have any buyer's remorse before my 2017 m240i arrives... which will hopefully be soon.

Do we know if there has been any changes to the suspension tuning or steering feel? Maybe I missed this.

I value life and hope none of the new computer connections work when driving other than mapping and music.

Concerned that the press release doesn't mention an updated electric steering system. The current one is probably the worst of all bmw models.

I felt the same way initially when I swapped my hydraulic steering 1-series for the electric steering 2-series.
But within a month I began to love the preciseness of the electric steering of the 2er - and if I wanted a slightly heavier feel, I'd put her in Sport mode.
Recently, I had the opportunity to drive my 1-series again (my son bought my old 128i ragtop) and I was surprised how much I didn't like the hydraulic steering of the 1er. It felt heavy and sluggish.
So, don't fret about how you feel about the 2er's steering. You'll quickly come to appreciate it.

Dash is hideous, headlights/tails meh. Wheels aren't bad, but damn, that sunset orange paint is hot.

The dash is copying the out going 3 series. The orange is to much in your face and will date fast.

Yeah, but the 3 Series dash seems to flow a bit better in my eyes. And I'd have to see the orange in person to really get a feel for it. I was on the fence for months regarding my paint choice. AW, MG and EB were the contenders. I liked the EB, but figured it would get old fast. This Sunset Orange may be similar in that regard, but I like it heaps better than Estoril at the moment.

Is there a current BMW with the same style gauge cluster? Just curious if it does anything interesting now that it's partially LCD. (Digital spedo would be great.) My wife has a '17 X5 and while it's a different cluster than the '17 2-series, the gauges are still analog.

I just placed a down payment for a m240xi with the below specs:
- Sunset Orange
- 719M rims black with all seasons
- Oyster leather (I'm on the fence about doing black leather instead)
- Dark aluminum trip (I'm on the fence on doing the wood trim instead)
- Cold weather package
- HK audio
- Black grill
- Carbon composite exhaust tips

I'm paying ED invoice $4700 - $6000 (waiting for ordering guide to be released) below MSRP, will be doing ED September 16th (Oktoberfest opening weekend) and will add a dinan tune as soon as it hits the states.

I think I did well on the price and options. Let me know your thoughts!

So are you saying your dealership already has the pricing and order guide for the 2018s?
