Coilover Recommendations

Hi everyone, I am looking to make the switch from H&R springs to a nice set of coilovers to help fix the rubbing issue I'm having with my current setup. Currently running Apex EC-7Rs 18x8.5 ET35 squared on 235 40 PS4S (not even running a big tire so it's annoying how it's rubbing in the first place).

I'm currently leaning towards KW V1s, but curious to see what other F22s are running suspension and tire wise.

I appreciate any and all input. Reference pictures of your car would also be super helpful.

Thanks.

Likely going to be the fenders. OP, have you considered rolling them, or are they already and it still rubs?

Ive been running my KW V3 for nearly 10k miles now and they have been one of the best coilovers Ive ever ran, they are stiff enough for the track but also comfortable enough to be daily driven without causing too much NVH. For clearance, I ran into issues with my endlinks due to the design of the KW springs that tapper upwards and caused rubbing issues there. This was fixed by running the endlings backwards on the passenger side.

I've been using Ohlins R&T for since 2020, love them. Only thing that would swing me to KW is the fact that you can get KW with the stainless bodies, which is awesome for cars that experience winter.

My car sees about 6,000 miles a year since 2020, less than 1000 of those are in winter conditions. Even with primarily above freezing driving, the Ohlins bodies look dirty / gritty - but as long as that does not bother you then it's no problem.

Ohlins R&T with Vorshlag plates. Customer running 17x9 ET42 with 255 RT660 tires with 5mm spacer.

KW V1 isn't bad for the street. There is also TCKR SA and many others. It all depends what you will be doing with the car.

PM us with any question or just want quotes for coilovers.

End Links

Do you not need New Adjustable End Links to match your new lower ride height?

Not in this case with the Ohlins. The ride height is near stock. However, if you lower with Ohlins, you will need shorter links.

I thought when lowering the car the distance between the strut end link mount and the lower subframe increases thus requiring a longer end link to prevent preload, No?

On a traditional coilover using preload to adjust ride height you would be correct.

Ohlins uses the adjustable collar on the strut body to move the strut up or down in the spindle, the opposite would be true.
