Yeah as long as I can still run stage 2 in the future and not have any codes or CEL on stock tune then I don't really care hahaha. Would be nice to know though!

I'm also interested in knowing why they ever even sent out the 85000 model cat. From what I understand, no B58 equipped car should have received that as they're for 2016 and before as clearly stated on their website. But I don't think I was the only one who got the 85000 and I'm one of the only ones that had an issue... hmm

Andrew is great to work with. He got back to me in about 24hrs I'd say. Anyways, GEN2 cats were released in 2020 from G-sport, which both HPPL-00010 (concentric) and 85200(s-wound) are gen2 cats. Gen2 cats have different coating technology hence more effective at preventing CEL on UPDATED cars. The S-wound vs concentric wound is just the shape of the coiling of the CAT, I doubt it makes any difference.

Even GEN1-85000 is perfectly fine and would work on newer cars BUT some cars that have updated softwares/tuning may need GEN2. So if you have GEN1 (85000) or GEN2 (HPPL or 85200), there is nothing to worry about .

Regarding the questions on the cat versions - GESI released their Gen 2 catalytic converters in 2020. They are 400 cell cats instead of the 300 cell in the Gen 1 cars but actually have improved air flow due to the advanced coating that has been used in the Gen 2 cats. There are two versions of the Gen 2 cats – one that is concentric (looks like a circular pattern) and the other is “s-wound” which looks more sinusoidal. Both are more effective than the Gen 1 cats. Active has tested the Gen 2 cats extensively using our in-house Supra and found the power to be the same as the Gen 1 with a very small increase above 5,000 rpm on the Gen 2 which would tend to indicate that at higher flow rates, the advanced coating does make a difference. There is no drop off in power even with the increased cell count.

The Gen 2 cats do cost more than the Gen 1 cats and Active decided in Q4 2020 to switch over to Gen 2 cats for all products. There are probably some Gen 1 cats still in the pipeline but please be assured that they still function as well as before. We are aware of some cars with updated tunes that may trigger a CEL with the Gen 1 cats and we have worked to replace those with Gen 2 cats as they arise. There is no reason to change your Gen 1 cat if your car is running properly but if you should experience a CEL, please check the cause first and if it shows cat failure contact us.

Thanks for clearing everything up! This is why you buy Active autowerke. Support has been A1.

Has anyone actually received their Active Autowerke downpipe order recently? I placed an order in early March and it has been pushed back twice. Still have no idea when I will received it.

it's not about keeping their word or not, they do not have control over Covid delays. We work with over 150 brands, most of them are running into these kinds of delays

I suppose you are correct but the lack of communication is certainly not due to COVID. If I was told the ship date was open ended, I would have explored different options.

I hear you.

I am set on a German brand for home appliances, and neither the retailer, the distributor, the importer, nor the manufacturer can say when the appliances will ship. In my case, it's pay ½ now, and wait...indefinitely.

Yeah but Active Autowerke is in Miami and GSEI is in Toronto. Overseas shipping is a mess but AA, GSEI and X-PH are all in NA. My issue is when I bought and paid for the downpipe in early March, I was told it would ship by the end of March then this week and now who knows.

You are ignoring the fact that things are changing on an almost weekly basis. When you purchased the part, you were given the ETA that the manufacturer had, then it got pushed back due to covid, again and again.

We work with over 150 brands and they are all experiencing delays. Check other threads, Dinan has had the same issue with ETA getting pushed back, same with REMUS, Fabspeed is now asking for 10 weeks to have items built, CG precision is taking forever as well etc... When you say you would have explored other options, you are not taking into consideration that no other option with a no CEL guarantee would have shipped any faster

I know it's frustrating to wait but delays are not surprising during these times. If you cant wait, i suggest you cancel the order and place another order in 6 months once things are back to normal

Exactly, raw material such as metal price are going up and are also harder to get. Logistic are all tied up as well. Lead time for raw materials at works now are 2-3 times longer.

Back to the topic, if this downpipe is 49 state legal, Im guessing this is not california smog legal?

Actually I think you are missing my point. It seems you have information on the vendor delays and you are not communicating them to your customers. Or maybe just me, who knows. Can you just update the thread when you know the AA orders will be fulfilled?

We forward the information to the customer as soon as we get it, if we did not send you the new ETA at the time, that's because we were not informed it got pushed back.

I also post all the updates on here as well as i get them

Got the 180001 code again. (This cat was replaced in december so that makes it about 4-5 months old) somewhere between 5-10k miles on it. Ugh hope it's a fluke and not my replacement cat dying again. I've taken very good care of this cat, had stock burbles on and only put it in sport once the car was fully warm.
