Any M240 drivers try MGFlasher tune

Been looking to add a tune to my 2020 M240 but have been on the sidelines for a while. I bought MG Flasher for my wife's BMW, but as un-luck would have it, her release of ECU is not supported. So I'm about to return it for a refund,

but ...

I was wondering if anyone has tried the MGFlasher specifically on their M240 and could provide any insight good or bad. Drive-ability in comfort, sport and sport+ mode. Paddle shifting under hard acceleration ... etc.

Thanks in advance.

I have it along with the xHP stage 3 transmission tune.
I'm in Canada and was able to get it through a local rep so the price was really good. Bought an MHD black dongle to do the install (of both the MGFlasher and xHP).
Their phone interface is great and everything installed super easily. Changing options like burble etc. is a piece of cake. I had some questions at some point and they responded within hours each time. Very helpful.

Blah blah blah. WHAT ABOUT THE POWER!?!
I haven't had it dyno'ed as mine is an XDrive and I don't have a local place with an AWD dyno but the difference is kick-in-the-pants noticeable from stock. They claim 420HP and I'm sure it's not far off from that.
As a reference my previous car was an extensively track modified E90 335iX which was putting out about 400HP. I was at my local track with it every 2 weeks so I knew it well under hard use. With only camber plates, the tunes and the same tire setup as previous (255 square RS4s) the new car is faster around my home track and my top speed is 2kph higher at the end of the back straight. Once I put on the same coilover setup I had on my previous car (KW V3s) I expect that difference to increase. FYI my E90 was slightly lighter than the M240. The M240 is just better set up and, I can't stress this enough, the tuned B58 has zero overheating issues (so far) like I had with the old car even with a pile of aftermarket coolers added.

Now I'm not saying MG Flasher is particularly better than the other reputable tuners. They all test their tunes extensively to make sure they don't create problems which is how they all end up at about the same HP numbers. For me it was being able to get it locally, the options you can change through their software, and it was about $150 cheaper than other brands. That might just have been my local BMW guy cutting me a deal but still.

TLDR: Amazeballs!!!

I've put off installing the tune for the last few weeks. I'm a few klicks east of you in Montreal. I had similar. I had a tuned E92XI with JB4, DP, KWv3, sways and other bits and suffered lots of surging and overheating with the JB4 on the N54. On the Dynopack it was making 430HP/480ft-lbs at the wheels. Not expecting that much from the M240 since I wont do DP, exhaust and transmission tune. Should be fun all the same.

I liked the fact that the tune was local-ish. I havent had a chance to bring the car to the track yet, but looking forward to my fav track, Calabogie, later this year. I cooked the performance tires that came with the car before winter, so I have the perfect excuse to go get new rims for a square setup.

Thanks for the positive review. So I guess I will give it a whirl this weekend.

Cheers. Hope to see you at 'Bogie or Tremblant.

Well, I finally took the time to install the tune. Flashing is a little cumbersome and not that intuitive, but once you get past that and have the tune installed, it works. Tried goofing around to get burble on the fly going, but struck out. There a little more power and torque per the butt-o-meter, but nothing earth shattering. Power delivery is pretty good. All in all a pretty cost effective way to get another 20% power addon.

I believe there was some specific b58tu1 notoriety involved with MG Flasher. From what I remember a photo was shared on the 3 series forums with a custom tune done by them.. but it may have been a supra.

Regardless, at the time, I was considering it, MHD won my choice based on the amount of involvement and development I saw. They were constantly posting improvements and map upgrades, and that sold me. The community is hit or miss. Lots of burble tune bros like anything else but also some strong custom tuners for it, like Wedge.

So far so good. The MGFlasher removes some of the dead feel the car had in comfort mode and tears ass in sport/sport+. I even figured out the burbbles on the fly. Now if I could somehow find a way to revive the deadness in the steering.

Good luck with your MHD tune.
