I blame it on the wheels. They made the entire car design for me.
+1 for the Alzor 030's

I have a similar set on my eGolf. Very happy with them.

This reminds me of a fellow I met at the track a couple of years ago who's been around BMWs for decades. He asked me what I'd brought, and I said "An M240". He said "What's an M240?". Not knowing how much he knew about late-model BMW naming conventions, I told him it was just a 2 series car. Thankfully, he didn't ask me to explain the 2 series.

The Alpine White/Coral Red Leather interior is a great combo!...and your black wheels really make the package!

Not quite a compliment

I have a few friends that see that I have a BMW and cars like this are rare in my neck of the woods. They know BMWs are expensive. So we’re talking about the car and how very cool it is. One of them asked me what I had invested in it ? I told him round figures and he said “ I paid more than that for my Silverado “ Hey I like the looks and performance of my car and if people think it cost a lot of $ ! Bonus.

Big trucks are remarkably expensive, especially when loaded (the number of available configurations is astounding). That said, trucks tend to hold their value much better than cars, for reasons that are a mystery to me. Also, model changes are few and far between (hence all the fuss about the new Silverado).
Around here, there are very few personal trucks and, at least as evidenced by the pre-election parades, most are bought to express the owner's personal politics. They do work well as display platforms for large flags.

Agree. Trucks are attached to an entirely different set of emotions than most on this forum usually experience. Too many articles to pick just one:

I have owned trucks before as well as sports cars. For me.. I'm a motor vehicle enthusiast. There is something special about a vehicle that sits you high up and can go just about anywhere. It is its own kind of fun and ownership experience. I also appreciate small, light sports cars that prioritize the driving experience, and I love big V8 muscle cars. I also was into collecting Cadillacs for a while. There's something quintessentially American about a
20 foot long 2 door coupe. If I could, I'd own one of every kind of car ever made....except a Prius. Wouldn't be caught dead in one of those things.

It's their utility that allows them to depreciate so little. A large percentage of used truck buyers are people who buy them to take advantage of that utility.

One example of a truck holding its value: when the wife rolled a 7-year old truck of mine after hitting a patch of black ice on a downhill curve, I had to come up with only $7,600 to replace it with the next generation of the truck. Even better, the model I was able to get for that modest sum was in every way a significant upgrade over the previous truck. All thanks to that truck line's modest depreciation curve. Oh, and thanks to the wife, too!

They are very different looking. The 2 is stubby and upright. The 4 is long and low. Both fantastic looking cars.

Really happy with them 6 months post-install. Everything is holding up perfectly other than the ///M decals I got to fill the rectangular cut out on Amazon.
I’m usually more of a stock wheel guy, but I love these on your car. I’d definitely consider them at some point. Please let us know if you have any problems with them going forward!

Is it just me, or do our cars give off very different vibes with the lip / no lip and the CF mirrors / M mirrors? It's surprising to me how different they look.

So far the finish is holding up great and I've hit some medium sized potholes with the rear wheels accidentally. No vibrations so I haven't been able to detect any bends. With 200k people in my city, the roads can get pretty beat up around here but the wheels can take it. My stock wheels actually couldn't. I had 3 bends fixed on the stock wheels.

I usually choose stock wheels as well. For my 328i, I got wheels from a 440i to install because I couldn't decide on anything aftermarket. But these wheels just fit the car so well.

Nice, I’m glad to hear they’re working out so well. I love the black wheel look. Have people had problems with shops scratching the paint as they put new tires on?

Lots of compliments here as well.

It think the fact that I have the M-Sport package adds to that as well.

Don't have any of the M-pack stuff just the regular 230 but I've had some people talking about it and seen neighbors checking it out when they walk by.

Wonder how it's going to be now that the F22/23 is gone from the website entirely for orders.

I bought my M235i new 6+ years ago. While I don't recall every receiving a verbal compliment, I find that my car still causes and lot of head swiveling. Even at 6+ years, the car does not look at all dated, thanks to BMW's consistent design philosophy.

The car does not look dated in part because it has not been redesigned in half a dozen years. All that is soon to change, but yeah, this is my favorite-looking BMW since the E46. I have owned both. The E46 still turns heads. Let's hope that this model will too in ten years.
