Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are the reasons anyone would pass a car off as an M when it isn't? I have a 440i F36 and I am satisfied with that. I don't feel the need to pass off my car as something it isn't. I suppose I am not feeling the need to compensate for something. Maybe being in my later 50s and living life has taught me I have nothing to prove. I am comfortable in my own skin ... and the skin of my base F36.

I dusted a fake X6M yesterday and the guy seemed surprised that his badge didn't give him the power to out accelerate me. I wasn't sure it was fake until I got home and confirmed, I didn't think BMW would put the M on the opposite side of the badge (regular X6 are on the left he had the M on the right).
