Thumbs up 2018 M240i 6-speed slick top - Melbourne Red - MP interior - 2800 miles

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 34,300.00

Item Interest
Hi everyone,

*edit* Wow, I can't believe I never mentioned my car has the M Performance Limited-Slip Differential installed! It was sourced and installed by Fall Line Motorsports in Illinois. These folks are some of the best in the industry, and I felt confident that they have more experience installing BMW Motorsport parts than even BMW does.

Car is a 2018 M240i 6-speed w/ moonroof delete + Convenience package that I ordered to spec and picked up from the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina on 1/3/2018.

- Melbourne Red over Black Dakota leather
- Clear bra (Suntek PPF) on front bumper/lower fascia/headlights
- still under factory warranty
- Full M Performance Interior, including front mats and center console arm rest
- M Performance matte black rocker panel decal + M Performance aero side skirts/blades painted Melbourne Red by IND
- 2800 miles, 800 of which was from the road trip home from the Performance Center delivery
- properly broken in past 1200 miles before going > 4k rpm
- 1 track day, which was a BMW CCA HPDE that took place just 10 days ago on 5/18/2019 @ Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. Car was flawless on track with ZERO issues!
- Pagid RSL29 (yellow) brake pads front and rear + Motul RBF660 brake fluid installed by Fall Line Motorsports in Buffalo Grove, IL just 1 week before the HPDE event
- break-in oil change performed by me just days before the track event @ 2556 miles, BMW Longlife-01 FE (part # 83212365950) was the oil used

Absolutely NO paintwork, accidents, stories, etc. Never driven in snow or on salt-covered roads. Car has been babied and sleeps in my climate controlled garage. I have not driven it without driving gloves and even provided a box of nitrile gloves in the passenger's seat with a note asking Fall Line Motorsports to not to drive it without putting on a fresh pair of gloves first. . Yes, I'm OCD with my cars and it shows. Only hand washed by me using only Sonax products. Car has never seen any type of paintwork, polishing, paint correction, etc. Just a 2-bucket hand wash in my driveway + Sonax Carnuba wax. That's it. Never a mis-shift, never abused. If you want to investigate my driving technique, please come by for a ride-along test drive.

Asking $34,300. (price updated 11/8/2020) Still waiting on custom-upholstered Cobra Nogaro bucket seats coming from Cobra Seats in the UK with Dakota leather bolsters, M Carbonstructure cloth (same used on base F80 M3 cloth seats) on the seat cushions, and Melbourne Red painted seat backs. I am planning to sell these once they arrive, but will give the buyer of my car 1st dibs. Seats have been sold already.

Please PM me with any questions or if you need more details. Thank you for looking!

*update 12/3/2020*

I received a quote through the original dealership where I purchased the car to extend the factory warranty for 2 more years (for a total of 5 years/75k miles) for $2650. The warranty expires in exactly 1 month from today, so if I get a buyer at my full asking price before then, I will buy the additional 2 years of warranty coverage for the next owner! If you are interested in my car, please don't be discouraged by a lack of warranty - you will be covered!

I may have missed them earlier, but do you have any photos of these chairs?

Unfortunately, no pics yet as they have not been completed by Cobra, but here are a couple of threads with a ton of info and pics of others' custom Nogaro buckets:

https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1520689

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...=600810&page=2

I may end up keeping these even for a future build as I have my doubts whether BMW will actually get their crap together and offer a lightweight bucket seat option in the future like Porsche does. There are spy photos of sportier looking seats in either the G80 M3 (or M2 CS?) rumor threads, but they are likely to still be heavy with side impact air bags and whatnot. I'm told the Nogaro buckets with glass-reinforced polymer backs, which is what I have coming, will drop 60-70 lbs. from the car, or about the weight of one stock 2-series sport seat. The carbon fiber version drops another ~20 pounds I think, but they are like $3-4k per seat! Obviously past the point of diminishing returns for the CF version...IMO anyway.

That said, I want to still offer a potential buyer of my car the option to purchase the seats for what I paid at the group-buy pricing ($3500 with the options listed above in my OP) in case it is an extra incentive to purchase the car. However, if I can get what I want for the car and the buyer does not want the seats, I'll likely hold on to them until I can get another BMW.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

Cheers!

Bump to the top. I've decided to keep the car for now, but sadly, other projects and lack of time will prevent me from getting the Cobra bucket seats installed before track season starts. Therefore, as much as I may end up regretting it, I have decided to sell the custom Cobra Nogaro bucket seats separately.

Please PM me if you are interested. A separate F/S ad should be going up later today.

Thanks all!

*edit*

Seat specs:

- Black Dakota leather bolsters and head rest sections
- M Carbon Structure cloth (same as used in F80 M3/M4 base cloth seats) cushions and center sections
- Seat backs painted Melbourne Red to match my car's exterior color
- Cobra logo delete
- Light silver stitching
- standard 2" cushioning (1" and 3" are optional for either more head clearance or a more plush feel)

Cheers!

I ended up selling these seats, but sadly, the car still sits in the garage and barely gets driven!! I literally have to force drives every week or two (or as weather permits - still a sunshine only car) just to run the motor and keep everything in working condition. Nothing has changed since I made this listing... sigh.

Anyone want to make me a fair offer on the car while I'm still having nagging thoughts that I should sell while my kids are still young?

Beautiful car and really cool spec. Just curious...why are you selling after such a detailed/choice spec out when purchased?

A 3-year old, a 7-month old, a new engineering & defense company I founded earlier in the year, real estate projects, trying to get a website off the ground, I mow my own lawn...life is destroying me at the moment.

Needless to say, the car just sits most of the time. Thinking if everything works out, I may get a G80 M3 in a year or two so I can actually enjoy driving while performing the daily routine. Then, I will buy a true track rat.

In the end, I didn't have the heart (or the time) to start seriously modifying this car for track.

Nothing has changed with the car since I made this listing other than mileage creeping up from sunny weather joy rides as weather and time permit. Just enough to get oil to full operating temp, do a few hard pulls, and cool it down by taking it easy on the way home.

Planning LSD fluid, engine oil, and brake fluid change over the coming weeks. Hoping I can hit the track at least one time this season! Maybe Autobahn again or I'd like to try Mid Ohio... Between my lifestyle right now and COVID-19, it might be a long shot though.

Oh yeah, title is in hand. No liens. Car is sitting at a little over 3500 miles. It's still under the factory 3-year warranty until January 2021, but I'm sure it could be extended by BMW for a cost.

Folks,

I have once again revisited selling my car, and this time I am ready to let it go. I had some interested people before asking me all kinds of crazy questions and asking for beauty shots. I am a busy man, and I want to be clear that I will NOT be taking beauty shots of the car or working my tail off to sell it.

If you want the car, please come and see it or PM me to arrange for a phone call/FaceTime showing.

Nothing has changed since my last posting except the miles have crept up from weekend joy rides over this past summer and fall. She sits at just under 3400 miles now.

My wife just bought a 2020 X7 xDrive40i, which required trading in my 2019 Nissan Armada and her 2017 Honda Pilot. I am therefore in need of a more practical daily car.

I currently have an arrangement with my local Honda dealership to trade my M240i in for a 2021 Honda Ridgeline pickup (I know, I know ). They are going to give me $33k trade-in value, which is the high end of Kelly Blue Book trade-in value due to the extremely good condition of the car. However, that is not taking into account the M Performance limited-slip differential and M Performance interior upgrades to my car.

Therefore, I would like $34,300 for my car in a private party sale w/ LSD installed. If I cannot get that, I will be trading it in to Honda as soon as the 2021 Ridgelines show up (expected early 2021).

The factory warranty should be good through January 3rd, which is the 3-year mark from the day I bought it. It may be longer than that, but I can't remember what the warranty was for MY2018 BMWs. Either way, I'm sure we can work with a BMW dealership to have it CPO'ed or purchase an extended warranty to ensure the next owner has some peace of mind.

Please PM me with any questions! Thanks for looking!
