Broken turbo shaft?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has broken the stock turbo shaft? My car started smoking real bad earlier, I could hear noise coming from the turbo. Got home. Pulled the stock cold-side plastic. The wheel was spinning free, I started the car, stuck my phone down at the opening of the cold side and the blades were barely spinning...

Does anyone have any idea whats going on?

I have a new turbo showing up on Friday. Once I get the old one out, I will post my findings. If anyone is curious. I believe this is a rare event, I was able to stick a screwdriver in and stop the compressor wheel from moving. I could hear the exhaust side still moving. Ha, just my luck....
