Ugh, the car has developed an undesirable sound
Hello all,
Recently my car has decided to (mostly) randomly generate a terribly annoying sound when driving. Some observations: - If I touch the brake pedal, the sound disappears almost instantly - It happens somewhat randomly, sometimes I can keep the sound going for miles, sometimes it won't occur for miles - Seems to go away at higher speeds - Seems to be coming from the rear, but it's hard to tell - Seems to be somewhat affected by steering to the left or right (I think steering to the left makes it slightly worse, but I may be wrong) The sounds starts about 10 seconds in. It's quite loud. On the 19 seconds mark I hit the brake and the sound disappears. Anybody have an idea of what it could be?

The sound is similar to what I have encountered a couple months ago, a tiny pebble got stuck in between the brake shield and pad on mine. The sound came at random times too. Sometimes at low speed, sometimes at high but the pebble fell out the next day.

Thanks, that makes sense.
I'll report back what I'll find.

Had dealer investigate the sound. Apparently it wasn't a pebble, it was the brake shield itself (left front). They've sorted it out.
