I went to Lowe's today and grabbed a couple of their utilitech direct replacement 4' led tubes. These are 4,000k units rated at 2,000 lumens. The bulbs are definitely brighter than the fluorescent tubes that they replaced, but not so much so that I'm clamouring to swap out the rest.

Some time in the next couple of weeks it'll make the 40 minute one-way trek to HD and try out the bulbs suggested earlier.

Tried Them

So, I tried the LED Philips bulbs from Home Depot. They wouldn't work in any of the fixtures I tried.

I can't rec these enough...was going to install killer LED strips from Amazon, and got these todays. Standard 2 car garage, and $85 and screw into 2 bulbs sockets, even with 12 ft ceiling...its day light in there.

I was ready to be impressed, I was blown away.
