i already ordered my 428i msport but i am really liking this M235i. I think they are not releasing pricing until the first 4 series orders start to fill. I think the M235i would take more than a few buyers away from the 428i...including me! I'm very interested in knowing more about pricing and the interior!!!

Inasmuch as pics have already been released, why are they still driving around with all that camo on?

Man oh Man! I'm falling in love with this little beast. I wonder what size we're talking about here. I'm guessing that it's going to be around the same size of the E92, if not just a little smaller. I'm extremely excited for it. I might save up the $$$ until the M2 comes out and see what it has to offer..... for my first ///M Car...

Looks very quick and well composed. This is the only car that has me thinking twice about going to an M4 next...

I am starting to have doubts about the M2.
When you start put things together, you ask yourself what engine would go in it. Without it stepping on the M3/M4 toes. I just don't see them putting a turbo 4 in it like the competitors. Then there is the LSD option that will be available for the M235i. Usually that is saved for the full M-treatment. It just seems difficult to slot a car between the M235i and M4. Both already having FI inline 6 cylinders. Also with them saying their goal was to outperform the 1M, it does sound like this is the successor. If it does come, won't be for years. Maybe a low volume car like the 1M. |

M235i will be able to compete with the M3/4. Just as the 1M could compete with a e9x m3. Besides people always didn't wanto compare their $80,000 M3 to a $50,000 1M.(even though it is a very close comparison track time wise) The naming is another financial stint by BMW. |

of course in the end.. years from now.. once the M2 is actually on sale.. the sales figures may just turn out that the M2 coupe outsells the M4... |

LSD is available in the F80 3 series and 4 series models as well... so an LSD *used to be * reserved for the M treatment... or well.. it was like that from E46 through E90s.... Old school bimwads recall that E30s and E36s had real diffs in lower models as part of the sport (is) package. Sorry to sink your battleship... if an M2 comes... it would come one year after the underlying base model.. which itself won't be out til this fall or next spring.... what else can an M2 have over an m235 ? let's see -better suspension design using more AL parts -lower ride height with stiffer shocks -carbon fiber roof - new fenders/quarters - front spoiler changes - rear spoiler and aero changes - a lot more M logos - limited exterior color palette with unique colors (ie Valencia, Aurum Dust) - unique interior styling cues ala the 1M seats with pinstriping/alcantara etc - more power - better brakes - quicker ratio steering - possibly non electric ? - faster Dual Clutch trans ? - EDC type suspension? etc. So.. yes.. ONE item that has been used to differentiate M cars for a decade or two is off the list... hardly a major change to the normal M treatment. |

When you say F80 and F82, do you really mean F30 and F32, as the F8x cars are the M's?
Is there an available LSD for the F3x cars from the factory? I have not seen a peep about that, it would seem like they'd actually make a big deal about reintroducing mechanical LSD's to non M cars, as so far, the only rumor I've seen is that the M235i would have one available, with no confirmation for the M135i or any official word on the rumored M435i either. |

Car looks like a lot of fun, would be perfect with carbon fiber roof and quad exhaust IMO but I don't think we will see an M2 until at least 3 years down the line. If the invoice price is near $42K BMW might have a winner.
Are those LED lights in the front?

Rumors this and rumors that. Don't rule it out.
For what it's worth (interested to know whether the "insider info" is backed up by a reliable source): --------------------- http://www.autocars2015.com/2015-bmw-m2/ 2015 BMW M2 Saturday, August 3rd 2013 | BMW The ambitious plans will help BMW take the fight to the quattro GmbH performance arm which makes S and RS-badged Audis, plus the R8. The M2 will be based on the firm’s F21 platform – also set to underpin the 2 Series, due early in 2014 – and has a front-mounted engine driving the rear wheels. One BMW insider has told us the newcomer, a direct descendent of the 1 Series Coupe, will be instantly recognizable from the entry-level car with its bold look. Our source also explained that BMW will not copy Audi’s “sausage factory” approach to design. This means the racy new 2 Series will get unique front and rear end styling, as our exclusive images reveal. One of the most innovative features of the upcoming M2 will be the intense use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics first used in the M3 CRT and also announced for the upcoming BMW i8. In an interview with the British magazine, the M Division’s new managing director, Dr Friedrich Nitschke said: “In the 1M Coupe, we have a starter car for the M Division, and we are continuing to develop this project. Such models must be sporty, and offer extraordinarily low fuel consumption. This is something we could achieve with the M2. I think the 1M Coupe proves there is room for an M2, a coupe.” Although BMW feels there is room for an M2 model, don’t expect it to arrive until late 2015. At that point, models like the Porsche Cayman and the Audi TT RS may need a little jump-start to deal with the added competition. --------------------- http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/b...-m4-2013-07-19 New BMW M2, M3 and M4: more details Paul Horrell | 19 July 2013 TG catches up with the boss of BMW's M Division to talk about the upcoming turbocharged stars... [...] Then he drops another bombshell. "I absolutely want to develop a successor model to the 1-series M Coupe. I have all the components I need - the powertrain, chassis. In the near future you will know. We can't call it the M1, because that number is for the special mid-engined car, but there is M2 isn't there?" There certainly is M2, especially as the new-gen two-door version of the 1-series will be called 2-series. The powertrain and chassis he refers to are overwhelmingly likely to be the straight-six and gearbox and chassis from the 1-series M Coupe, which had a criminally short production run. That'd position it about 100bhp under the new M3 and M4. ---------------------
