E82:
width = between e46 and e90
length = around E30, similar to E89 Z4
height = e46 height

F22 should be:
width = closer to e90, possibly equal to e90
length = around e36
height = should remain the same
weight = a lot lighter...I wish.

The width would be already known (1.765mm) F20's width. It's the same car!!!
And the height will be the same or nearly the same....

Well, I was right, closer to the e90 width. I made a mistake about the height. The E82 is actually taller than the e46 (and e92) but close to the e90. I'd expect the 2 series to be lower than the F20 1er just like the E92 vs E90.

Not necessarily. The 4er is wider then the f30 3er (and lower)

Can't wait to see this car - sure will be nice to have a proper 3-series back in the BMW lineup.

I'd love to go wider and lower (and also somewhat longer) because it's very likely to be the replacement for my e92. But I see the pictures of the F22 and F20 and see the same body panels. Wheelbase has to be the same and track width probably. Could be a little lower

Jason would be nice to give your opinion...

the F22 is SO much cooler looking than the red car....the red F20 has the most generic front end ever.....i wish the F20 had the same front end as the F22.....

Style is subjective. I think the F20 is the best thing since the E46 M3 I had, and the E36 M3 before that. Go back to Audi after your 135is.

Forget the horrible front of the F20, will soon be changed.

I had a look at the i3 concept, M4, and new 2-series last week.
All parked in a closed room for invited only.

Testdrove the i3 concept (it came from the recent Frankfurt show).
No sound. I could only hear the fan.

The 2-series was a pre-production car (kind of Valencia orange), and appeared to be much bigger in size than the previous 1-series coupé.
Lots of interior space, thin black leather seats of new design I think, but other than that the usual BMW interior.
Too bad I couldn't find out what engine it had. Two exhaust pipes as 335i.

Two exhaust pipes meant it was a M235i

If you visited the closed room at IAA you were not to to discuss the 2er and M4 Concept.

Hey, I was at the IAA today and had a short conversation with one of the M Performance engineering guys and asked him about the M235i. He said that he drives one at the moment and that he is absolutelly stunned by the performance (with a big grin in his face).
The most suprising answer he gave me was about the Power Kit. When I mentioned the Kit with its 340hp he smiled again (and this time even more!) and said that we should expect a little bit more!!!
I tried to get the number out of him, but he just said that it wont be less than the 34hp more from the 435i Power Kit!
So I assume that we will be able to get an M235i with around 355hp!!

Jason or Scott do you know something more about it, or can you deny it?

The best thing from the IAA!
I also hope it's true, but the way the guy grinned and how he told me, makes me really feel it's true!

He also talked about the LSD which he said is absolutelly awesome! And like Scott already mentioned somwhere, he confirmed that the M235i has the target to be more sportier than the M135i, which it definitelly is!

That's awesome!

Now will the M performance power kit be an option at launch or will it be included? Same goes for the LSD.

I guess we'll find out in a few weeks....

I have an answer to that question too, because i asked him the same

His answer was that they work hard to get it ready for launch, but he thinks at least in summer everything will be available!
