Climate Vent control
I've got a question...
If you look at the below, you see that for the drivers side (green circle), you have 3 vent positions.. On the passenger side (orange circle), I only have 2. No matter how many times I press the vent position button, I can only the get bottom 2 on the passenger side. It's not the light being burned out either because it cycles with every press of the button. Is this normal? If not, is there some setting somewhere I can change or do I need to take this into the dealer? Thanks!

See that button directly below the passenger side that you circled? The one with the 3 vent lines going towards the passenger? Try giving that a press or two and see what happens.

I've done it a million times to see if if the top line shows but it never does... It's not the light being burned out either because it cycles with each press of the button.. It just never gets to the top line.

That's a weird one. I forget exactly but I think the drivers side is the master and the passenger is slave, if that's the right term. So you can have all on for driver and then some selectively off for passenger. But you cannot have on for passenger but off for driver.
Without seeing how you have everything else set hard to comment further.

So you're thinking this is normal.. Just a setting doing this? I'm going to go and play around with it during my lunch break..

This is normal! Mine is exactly like this and I asked the tech about it when I got my car delivered.
Not sure how true it is, but the way he explained it was that the 2 series only has one "top" vent and that is controlled by the driver side. |

There is nothing wrong. Only the driver's side control determines whether there is any air directed to the windshield (both sides, pass & driver), because the driver has priority.

From the owners manual (page 130):
Press button repeatedly to select a program: ▷ Upper body region. ▷ Upper body region and footwell. ▷ Footwell. ▷ Windows and footwell: driver's side only. ▷ Windows, upper body region and footwell: driver's side only.

Wow. You learn something new every day. I can't remember the last time I touched these buttons on any BMW I have owned in the last 15+ years.

I spent the whole delivery time reading through the manual a couple of times (available online - nice touch), still confused about several features, but it does help. This was one of them that I had to go back and check, and I still can't figure out if it is using the thermostat numbers if it is on regular AC, or only if I set it to 'auto'.
