BMW Apple CarPlay Functionality

Hi everyone!

Is anyone able to shed some light on the Apple Carplay functionality?

i've read that it's only Available from models 2017 - present day but then i've also read that that you have to pay bmw for the functionality?

If anyone knows anymore information that'd be great

Hey Josh, so yes, you do have to pay BMW about $300 to get it enabled. They have wonky weird method to deal with CarPlay, and it is by design to thug money out of you: Connected Services checks the status of your CarPlay certificate with BMW each and every time.

Anyway, it is completely and totally worth it. I went back from Android to iOS after 8 years... no Greta on that end!!

Check the audio and electronics section. I added it to my vehicle after the fact with minimal work and purchased a software unlock to activate the service.

The car has to come with CarPlay from the factory. It can’t be added aftermarket thru BMW beside thru an independent dealer like bimmercode.
