No. Cameras are not allowed and that also goes for phones.
The last high profile leak was at an early presentation for the E63 and E64 6er. A US dealer photographed the two and put them on line or sent them to a magazine. Management at that time went ballastic. Completely Bat-shit crazy and They lost their franchise, I think they now sell Korean. Hyundai or Kia.
Hyundai or KIA!

lol

New M3? Was this a typo?

The 991 GT3 RS leak by model car was the most epic leak, IMO. Imagine the first glimpse of a highly anticipated machine like that breaks the internet by a toy. lol

EDIT: Back to the OP. BMW you have my full attention.

BMW is very serious about privacy and not letting things leak. I went to training about 2 years back and they showed us the M235i way before the release and was obviously asked not to take any pictures. Well one person not only took pictures but posted them online. BMW AG wasn't happy and orders from the top sent all the way to BMW USA to fire that individual. Finding people you can trust these days is tough...

BMW can be mad but come on. We've seen the mules being tested, this isn't really news.

Which new M3 is this, Scott? F80 LCI or something else?

Yeah, I remember that leak. Same color as the demo car as well. And then there was the leak of the actual car---a black prototype with track scars and mud on it.

And let's not forget the G11 7 series garage leak...if people were anticipating something like that Concept a while back, the garage leak was a big let down.

Don't understand what's all the fuss here

We all knew the M2 is coming and seen test mule photos around.

M4GTS? IF the E92 M3GTS is to go by, how many is going to buy it with that ridicules price tag?

The M2CSL will have my full attention though.

I wonder if BMW was able to figure out whose badge that is. I can already see the BMW ban hammer rising.

Just bringing this up for anyone who might be in the position to leak data.. BLACK OUT sensitive things - like your name. Don't pixelate it like you see in this photo.

http://dheera.net/projects/blur

It's not trivial to do, but it can be done, and if I was in the position of incurring BMW corporate's wrath I wouldn't just pixelate my badge =)

It's the LCI, the F30 is getting facelifted starting July 2015 as MY2016.

M3 always gets LCI quickly.

As a reference, the F30 3 series sedan is rolled out first, followed by the 3 series coupe (which is now the F32 4 series). The F80 M3 sedan and M3 coupe (now F82 M4 coupe) always trail the sedan and coupe. By the time the M3 gets rolled out, the 3 series is already a few years old and thus ready for an LCI.

F30 3: 2012 - 2015
F32 4: 2014 - 2016
F80 M3: 2015
F82 M4: 2015 - 2017

F30 3: LCI 2016 - ????
F32 4: LCI 2018 - ????
F80 M3: LCI 2016 - ????
F82 M4: LCI 2018 - ????

I wonder if this means you'll only see the first gen M2 until summer of 2016 then gets LCI along with the current 2 series at the same time.

If that was me I would've done a better job blurring or just completely removing my name and info from that ID Badge. You can still make out the character length and could be narrowed down to a specific name.

F32/f82 most likely won't get a lci till model year 2018, it came out my 2014 pre lci runs 4 model years lci runs 3.

Yes, I think you are correct. I was a little buzzed when I first posted.

2017 is when 4 series gets the 430 and 440, 2018 is when it gets LCI.

Although, the 2012 F30 was a very short production year, meaning it really had more like 3 years of model runs before the LCI.

Perhaps BMW will accelerate the 4 series LCI to 2017, but I think it was confirmed it wasn't until 2018.
