Wind noise on F22 windows?

I recently purchased a 2016 M235i xDrive and a few days later (after it got really cold out here in Michigan) I noticed a very annoying “whistling” wind sound coming from my driver side window. I took it to the dealership I purchased it from only for them to tell me they “didn’t hear anything” (typical dealership BS) so I started looking for a DIY solution.

My first thought was to replace the weather seal or readjust my window alignment but both were time consuming/expensive (especially since it seems to only happen in really cold weather)

Ultimately I ended up finding this solid core foam/rubber tubing that fit PERFECTLY into the existing weather strip gap. Problem completely solved, no more wind noise at all, and looks pretty sharp IMO!

It looks like he just pressed the 1/4 inch foam tubing (see red line) into the split in the weather stripping. I have done something similar on other cars I have owed including a 2004 Chrysler Town and Country. Easy to do and very effective.

I get the same response, not currently available. May be able to find it in a auto parts house or maybe a hardware store. Don't know what you have in Turkey now as I was last in Antalya back in the 80's and have not been back. Good luck.

I would try calling around any hardware stores that you have in your area.

To anyone stumbling across this in the future - I bought the same Trim Lok 1/4” piece and worked wonders! Fits perfectly into the weather stripping and creates a more tight seal. No more wind noise!

Here’s a link: trim-lok X301-100 EPDM Closed Cell Sponge Rubber Seal, 1/4" Cord Bearing Diameter, 25 Inch, 1 https://amzn.eu/d/imPOj5c
