Lightbulb First time trying to modify my car *HELP*

So i just got my 2015 m235i about a month ago now, and after lurking around the threads i decided i might as well make an account and ask the community for help.
So i love the car, its just so quiet for such an animal of a car, i want to modify the exhaust but i dont want to drop a thousand dollars on it.
I daily the car to school and work about 1 hour each way, my friends with older BMWs have recomended me to do a muffler delete. But after lurking the forums drone is a huge problem, can anyone help a young buck out, all i want is to wake my neighbors in the morning thats all

Do not do a delete - do this instead. Less money and has an on / off switch to toggle back and forth from stock to douche mode.

Thanks for the quick reply, but would this not just bypass the muffler?

You could also do a resonator delete. That would be a tad louder.

That's the point, it's bypassing the muffler with an on/off button. When you want it loud, it can be loud. When the drone noise is too much, you go back to being quiet. Hell, if there was a plug and play kit for a cutout and these cars, I would have done it already.

This.

If no drone and cheapest is main concern buy a used MPE. Sell it when you're done and get most (if not all) of your money back.

I appreciate the advice, so that kit that you linked is it just slip into the midpipe? Do you cut and clamp?

Again Noobie

This has probably been answered somewhere else but does anyone have an idea of how much dealers charge for MPE install? specifically in NJ

I am in the exact same place as the OP. Same car, 2 weeks ago.
I want more noise too. Pulled the rear fuse to keep the valve open, but not enough.

Which is easier, Resonator delete or MPE?
I think both involve cutting the exhaust, correct?

I was about to do that little hack but read that it’s actually louder with the valve closed due to it coming out of 2 exhausts

Yes. One exhaust pipe bypasses the can and is loud. The other goes through the can and is quiet.

You could save some $ by lowering windows but that would miss the point.

After some research this option seems like my best best bet, tommorow on my day off im going to go check some shops out and get a quote on it, but i was wondering if i need two of them or just one? from the videos ive seen of the 335 they use one on each side and wire them together. Again thanks for all the help

You can go to any parts store and rent a exhaust pipe cutting tool for free and install the MPE in about an hour.

The MPE makes absolutely lovely sounds and with no drone. While pricey, it is designed by BMW to give the N55 that best sound possible. My friends are in absolute of aw of it and how exotic the car sounds. With the windows down, it is amazing and I often drive without the music on. If you want more engine noise in the interior, consider removing the engine and underhood cover as I did: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...php?p=23698191

Possibly the pre 2018 MPE sounds better than the 2018. My 135is sounded marvelous. The M240i sounds good but far less snarly. The 2018 has no flap.
