mpe exhaust mod

hi all

so I've looked up the more exhaust mod where you disconnect the valve to keep the flap open and when I looked down at the pipe, I see the flap opened so I disconnected it before starting the car. but I notice usually when I'm in sport and the flap is opened, the exhaust produces more burbles and over run but after doing this mod, it basically sounds the same in comfort as if I didn't do the mod.. any ideas? thanks in advance

Scan the car, you most likely have an error for the valve so probably the car acts as if it's always in comfort because you are not supposed to open the valves while the car is stationary ( noise and emissions standards ).

Best is to leave the valve connected and remove the fixing bow ( see piece 9 ) and then lock the valve into open position.

The ECU will still try to open / close, but since the actuator is not connected to the valve, nothing will happen.

I just pulled a fuse in the trunk while in Sport mode to keep the valve open.

No code, it's fuse #146, make sure it's in Sport mode so the valve is open.

Stock cars should not open valve on engine idle, regardless of mode ( normal / sport / sport+ ). If it does you would hear it doing it, it's loud enough to hear it with the door open. Valve opens only on engine load, there is a map in the ECU telling it at what engine load / rpm it should open, so I can't see how pulling the fuse could work, unless you pull it while reving the engine hard.

If you use BM3, there is an menu to control valve, you can manually open / close it. The same is true if you use a data display like AKMotion DataDisplay.
