Missed our 235, so we bought a 240

Past year or two we have had the Focus RS, Civic Type R, and the Si (for long trips) and we finally broke down and bought a 2019 240 vert. Wife decided she was tired of harsh rides, so she got a baby Lexus IS.

We were looking high and low for another M3 but the deal on this thing was just too damn good due to it being a 19 and the 20's are right around the corner.

Needless to say, happy to be back in a BMW and good to see the familiar names still on the boards.

Congrats. I had the same experience. Looking for an M car but the incentives and pricing on the 240 was just too good.

Beautiful car!!

Nice. Civic Si is a great travel/DD car. I personally could never justify the price point on the RS or the Type R.

Price point is pretty much the only thing that justifies them

Cheap, out of the box track cars.

Our 2014 had the badges and we left them on, the 2019 did not come with them.

Thanks, no chance of that, we know this car very intimately.

I was torn on getting a vert in the 240 particularly because you lose quite a bit of rear room all around. With our son getting older and having other cars it's just not as big of a deal as it used to be. Looking forward to some nicer weather up here and using it more.

My 2019 240i doesn't have the side badges either (production date 2018-09-12) I wonder if its based on production date or a option?

nvmaddog What are your impressions between the 235 vs 240 since it has a different engine; Does it feel drastically different?

3 things have really stood out for me the past couple of days vs. the 235 while driving the 240. The technology aspects are much better (obviously), wheels look better, and the engine noise is more pronounced. The latter could be due to it being a vert, but the growl is substantially more noticeable in the 240, as are the downshifts.

Other than that there is not much to tell one apart from the other (from behind the wheel), and I am fairly certain 0-60 and 1/4 times would be within 1-2/10ths or so of one and other. The 235 was quick, so is the 240. The real upgrade that makes it very much worth it is the new i drive, and the new wheels. I know it is petty, but I absolutely hated the look and color of the old orbit wheels.

Loved it as well. (I used to build and race SVT vehicles, so the RS holds a special place in my heart)

After HG replacement #2, decided it was time to let it be someone else's headache. Every mile behind the wheel was straight up worth most of the aggravation though.

the RS is one of the cars I was looking at before getting my 235. I still see RS' and drool. . .

nice pick up! I've been thinking of getting a 'vert a lot lately too!

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? Also, does it have x drive? Dakota leather?
