Does aFe Air Scoop fit m240?

Will this aFe air scoop fit the m240? https://afepower.com/afe-power-54-12...amic-air-scoop

It says it fits F22 but specifically says F22 m235i, and I believe the intake is on the right for the 35s, as opposed to being on the left like it is for the 240s, so not sure..

Not sure if it will fit, but even if it did, not much use since the intake for our car is on the left side of the motor.

I wonder how much it would cost to fabricate one for the m240i.

i know but on amazon, when looking at the listings and product photos, some listings show it on the left while others on the right, even though they are listing the exact same product for the same model vehicles.. ordered one in CF and will see if it fits

I was able to retrofit one to fit my m240 but it is not designed specifically for our cars.

So I have the scoop on both my cars N55 F23 which is on the drivers side, and N20 F31 which is on passenger. Not sure what you meant by left or right assume looking head on but who knows. Anyway...

The fit is better on the F3x cars as the retaining plug can be used, F2x cars no. I don't know that either do a hell of a lot of good to be honest, but inexpensive and look kind of neat so why not. I wouldn't go through the brain damage of trying to retrofit or modify one if they don't have something for your car.

Eventuri has one too but at $300 or whatever not sure that's worth it, also not sure if they make one for your car.

For the AFE scoops there 2 part numbers, one for the left side and one for the right side. I recently ordered one for my m240i just to see if it fits. There both on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/aFe-Power-Mag.../dp/B008PQSRV0
This is for bmws with intake on the passenger side.

Personally, I think applying the $50 towards an updated (bigger) heat exchanger would provide a greater benefit IMO, lol.

The scoop is nice, but really won't change IAT much.

Wow, that's really cool. I'd have to agree with you.

But $50 isn't much I'd worry about if this thing fits.

It won't do much to change IAT is my point, might look cool, but only way to really make a diff would be to increase the amount of air entering. This is not possible as there are choke points further down the line.

That is why I also reposted the link to the larger HE as the added channel length and larger surface area of cooling would achieve the desired results of lowering IAT. Even then, I'm not so sure on a DI engine, especially with a VVT capacity, that it will make as big a difference as I would want.

If anything, it might provide a placebo effect IMO and nothing more.

Best Regards

Late post, but the answer is yes, the passenger side AFE piece does it. The duct opening is the same size between F22/F30/and im sure several other models. Only thing you need to do is secure it to the OEM plastic via 1-2 self tapping screws and that's it. Can't say this part actually does anything though lol. If fact I had actually forgotten I installed this piece until seeing this thread lol

The scoop is probably not necessary, but on cold weather climate F22 configurations, the intake where this scoop attaches is actually blocked with a plastic insert. The air enters the snorkel from the space around the filter box/headlight, rather than from in front of the radiator.

If you remove the panel (again, Cold Climate models only), you get an improvement in IAT. I also added the Warm Weather elbow duct, but skipped the little grill. I don't think the elbow helps that much, but it feels a bit more streamlined.

Except there are exactly 0 people who have bought an uprated heat changer that have produced any tangible improvements to IAT/performance during real world testing.
