Is this normal or is a bearing or something need checked out? Sound is only present at hard throttle with revs above 5000. See vid below, although it sounds a touch more metallic in person...

Quick update... for anyone who hears that sound in upper RPM band at full throttle, def get it checked. Turns out I need a new transmission (thankfully under warranty). It's inbound from Germany and should be here in a week or two. Car drives totally fine and has been great, just the slightly noticeable squeal above 5k - mostly in 2nd but other gears as well for the 8AT. Tech mentioned the fluid was pretty nasty so suspect the previous owner drove it pretty hard... plugs were also replaced around 30k miles (before I bought it) which is another sign of hard use.

Any recommendations on other things to check or preventive maintenance to do if car was run pretty hard? (it's in mint shape inside/out and was a FL car so looks really solid all around). Def gonna do a Blackstone oil analysis, but anything else at roughly 38k miles?

How could a transmission produce such a sound?? Did the dealer told you what specifically was wrong with the transmission? Was the problem solved after the transmission swap?

Good to hear warranties are actually being upheld without hassle. Who was the dealer?

Thanks for your prompt reply! So do you know what the actuall cause of the noise was? Failing bearing? Compression loss or something else within the trans?
