Hey guys! I have a 2012 bmw 1M, but unfortunately i need to do some maintenance to the engine and repairs, it has a n55, but i also have a 2017 m240i that i had a big crash earlier this year, but the engine and gearbox are not affected, and i want to swap the 1M with the b58 and i need some help with that, can someone give me more information about it? Like what engine mounts do i need for it, what manual gearbox (i want to swap the 8 speed zf from the b58 with a manual, and the manual in the n55 can`t support the amount of torque that the b58 has), driveshaft, etc. Thank you!

I did that, here i ask mainly about the gearbox, from automatic to manual conversion, etc.

I wish you luck! I’ve done swaps on the same chassis, but never different cars or generations. You may need to swap computers and door locks too. This will be complicated.

Yea i will need that, i don t know what to say about the door locks, but i found a standalone that would work (scs delta gdi6 ecu direct injection) and i will try and code everything on that. Just need to know if i am missing something, found the engine mounts, the gearbox, etc.

You might just need to swap the driver’s door lock with the key socket, unless you can code the car without switching the lock.
