July 30, -HPR Colorado, Thursday Night Lapping at Hight Plains Raceway!
Just a heads up for any local CO enthusiasts that would like to blast around High Plains Raceway on a Thursday night. I'll be attending the open lapping night this July 30 at HPR - https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...ZsIvufpQeJen;t
If you haven't done so yet - it is a blast and a great way to see how your car performs within your own limits as well as against other car makes/models out there. HPR website http://highplainsraceway.com/ lapping days/nights info - http://highplainsraceway.com/drive-t...s-information/ Let me know if you plan to join and I should be able to reserve some pit spots together so we can all line up. They sell racing gas at the track now - Rob |

Would love to come but I hurt my back :-( in no condition for the track.....
Hope you have fun! We need to have a 2-er get together sometime in Denver. I have been seeing quite a few of them these days. |

Sounds like fun. I would love to go, but that evening doesn't work for me. There are lots of open track days at HPR, maybe we can coordinate another day too.
I've run my car out at HPR twice this year so far, I hope to get a few more days before winter. Record your lap times I would like to compare my 228 times to an M235. Have fun. |

Sorry to hear about your back - hopefully you get a chance to get out later this year. I'd be up for a 2er meetup - perhaps Kittredge would be a good destination spot.

last call - Bueller.........
I'm probably going to hold off on this date unless any other locals decide to join. From my past experience at HPR with my 135, that's what half the fun is. |

I'm interested, but can't commit right at the moment. Have you been out there yet? My best time is 2:13 so far.

Just a quick update for anyone thinking of coming out this Thursday at High Plains Raceway. My buddy (with his 458 Italia) and I are all set for the 4PM lapping session. I have mildly track prepped my car (high temp brake fluid, tape on vital paint surfaces, tuned track map on JB4) and will be bringing e85 in a track jug and purchasing race fuel at the track.
Hope to see some fellow 2ers out there! Rob 720-468-2805 |

Brandon - heading out there this afternoon for the 4:00 lapping evening. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW, 2:13 is a great time - best I did with my 135i was mid 2:16s. We'll see how the 2er comopares! I got the Harry's lap timer and telemetry app to try out.

Wish I could have made it...sounds like you had a good time! Do you run camber plates? My only complaint of the car was the way the front would push. Of course my technique probably has a lot to do with it, I need to get a vid up and get some feedback. I read about trail braking and I think that could improve things - do you trail brake?
So what kind of time does the Italia run?

I do trail brake in some of the corners where you can slowly bleed off some of the load on the front tires when transitioning (like going into the esses). My buddies Italia was running 2:10s - but I'm confident I could have gotten that car in the low 2 range, but my buddy was smart enough not to let me drive his Italia :P |

Just did my first day at HPR this past weekend and had a blast. The elevation changes really add an extra layer of fun to the track.
My car was on RE71R 245/45/17 with stock alignment. No mods other than wheel/tires and high temp brake fluid (stock brake pads). Unfortunately my car hit limp mode during my fourth session (ambient temps around 65F). The track was crowded enough that I only really got 3 clean laps the whole day, but I managed a 2:08. With a more aggressive alignment, I think a 2:06 should be possible! |
