Just looking at a used 218i AT M Sport trim and noticed no rear seat release buttons in the boot for the rear seats. they have the slide and recline

Does this mean they cannot be folded flat?

Can they be done manually with the loop in the seats?

If they can be folded flat can they be altered so they can, other than this car is perfect for my needs

Just pull the fabric loop and pull the seat back forward until it folds flat.
