Parking Brake Cable Clip Broke I'm Sure!

So I caught the dreaded F chassis disease. Will probably order an all metal one this week but I wanted to get some guidance.

Firstly, I'm a paranoid person and emergency fix anything no matter how small so am I doing any major damage in the coming days when I hear that noise?

Secondly is it worth getting an all metal one to make it a permanent fix?

No and Yes. No real damage will occur with it rubbing on the drive shaft unless you drive it several thousand miles before you fix it. Yes it is worth it as you only want to do that job once.

Or, you could just tie-wrap the cables up to the nearby insulation panel mounting points and move on. I did that quite a while ago and it's been just fine.

Honestly... I had this issue from the first day I bought my 2018, 1 owner, 38k mile estoril blue m240 xdrive... worst sound ever... first time I heard it I seriously thought my trans was destroyed or something ... googled it.. and realized it literally isn't if but when it happens ... was lazy with mine, then recently my friends 340 xdrive got the same issue... I talked to a lot of very knowledgeable bmw people, and my mechanic... I know this sounds rediculous... but the best fix is as simple as a couple zip ties.... my mechanic told me he's seen many customers bring their cars to bmw dealerships for the same issue.... and when they get the car back.... even bmw dealers fix?? Zip ties.... I got mine done and it hasn't made any noise whatsoever ... it's ridiculous because the plastic part that holds the e brake wire costs like 10$.... but to install it I guess costs like $1,200 because of the labor... I can't remember what part they have to remove to get to it.. but it's a huge pain in the ass....
trust me... zip ties and you're problems solved for free...
