Buyback/Lemon on a 2015 m235i w/13k miles

I am looking at a 2015 BMW m235xi w/13k miles, Carfax came back as "Buyback/Lemon" that was reaquired by BMW NA due to "Increased battery discharge".

Can anyone advise me if the car would still have the balance of the manufacturers warranty?

I called my local dealer and the original selling dealer unfortunately they are closed right now and will contact them in the morning. I am just looking to see if anyone has insight on this.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Women in my hood had for the same reason a buyback on a 2013 135is. Car was amazing looking. I think she had two attempted repairs and successfully negotiated to a 428. Just sayin.

Don't take any chances. Check the VIN with BMW dealer and make sure it still has it's warranty.

I did, car still has the balance of the warranty, thanks.
Just not sure that a 2015 m235xi w/13k is worth $30k with a lemoned title and carfax.

There'll be other ones out there man. I'd move on. Electrical issues are a pain to deal with.

Perhaps you can use this as leverage to get the dealer to throw in an extended warranty, then you don't have to worry.

AFAIK the "Increased Battery Discharge" happens when the car is driven short distances and the battery can't provide enough CCA (cold cranking amps). I could be wrong, but maybe the car just had a bad battery?

That said, I would still stay far, far away.

You might be right and I haven't pursued it any further although the car is constantly coming up in my searches as it is the least expensive, low mileage m235xi on the east coast. BMW NA has confirmed the balance of the factory warranty applies.

I am not particularly crazy about "XI" I dont really want an AWD and prefer RWD.

warranty will exclude the buy back reason, so basically anything electrical. No manufacturer wants to buy back cars, it is of last resort with arbitration.

It is a dud. If the company that made them can not fix it how will you?
