REDLINE 5W-30 is another good one but lacks LL-01.
A reader asked Miller a question in Bimmer Tech Q&A about oil catch cans in the crank case ventilation system to also keep the dirty, oily air out of the intake system. He never answered it,but it seems like it would help.

OCC on the N55 - Not Needed

Burger Tuning & Rob Beck Turbo have both concluded ( I believe) that the N55 does not need an OCC for the latest versions of the engine as well as the PCV valve (good) . So, I am just going to stick with the PP EURO 5W-40 but with a 5-6k OCI . I will inspect the intakes at 50k and access their condition.
.
I would think a tuned N55 would require a more stringent maintenance plan and a OCI of 5k would be very key.
.
I don't get free oil changes -- purchased the car used at 15k and MY 2015 the maintenance plan did not transfer. So - I have stocked up on Mann Filters and PP oil -- looking forward to long term ownership

Not trying to be difficult, but the only justification for doing all the extra maintenance is the contrast between owner paid vs free maintenance itself.
Look at the resale value of an off-lease BMW versus a similar car maintained the "old school" way.

Examples? A former lease is always going to take a ding in resale, regardless of brand.
