What type of work have you had done at Autoscope?
Alignment, control arm bushings replaced, and some help troubleshooting a check engine light. Nothing exciting.

I know they're around -- I see and hear tuned M cars in and around downtown a couple times a week -- but no, they're not prominent. (There isn't an active DFW-area coder in the Bimmerpost database, either -- closest regular one is in Houston). That's partially why I recommended checking with BMW CCA/Lone Star.

Which BMW do you service at

I'm looking to go do the warranty work on that clicking noise related to the tire. Anyone able to recommend which BMW dealership to go to? I live pretty close to BMW Dallas, but their service reviews seem horrendous.

Thanks!

If it's warranty work I can't imagine they could really fuck anything up. I have not been to them since they moved to the new location, for all I know they've improved. That said, I've been going to classic for a decade now and have always had great service.

Thanks! Some of the reviews were recent so I figured I'd ask around the forums here.

I've never had any problems with BMW of Dallas, just call ahead 3-4 days to reserve a loan car.

This. My car is there right now having a faulty chassis sensor replaced and the 10K warranty service done (at 7 months/5,100 miles!); driving a semi-loaded '15 328i as a loaner. So far, so good, though we'll see how my car is when I pick it up either later today or tomorrow. (Be aware that BMW of Dallas is currently switching to an all-digital system using iPads.)

I've heard bad things about both Dallas' & Classic's service departments. Kind of a wash, so I'd give the closest dealer the first shot.

I use BMW of Dallas exclusively, even though it is farther for me than Classic. I've had a variety of SA's...all very good - I don't understand the negative reviews. I've only had great experiences and neither vehicle was purchased at the dealership. In addition, they are very thorough about following-up with a dealership survey and a phone/email from a customer relations person prior to receiving a survey from BMW. They don't seem to be the type of operation that doesn't care about their reputation.

I prefer BMW of Dallas because I can book early morning weekday and weekend appointments on their website (preferable because it doesn't conflict with work). For some reason, Classic doesn't offer these times on their appointment website.

I would give Classic a chance - but having to pick up the phone to book a service appointment is a deal-killer for me.

Well, BMW of Dallas did misstep on a couple of minor things during my service visit that required me to take my car back, and one service manager indirectly assumed I was fibbing about my car not being washed (one of the missteps) the first time in. I responded in kind to the customer service rep there, and the dealership offered a free detail the next day -- of which I'm still not sure I'm going to take advantage. It's that they responded with the offer and an apology (and promptly) that shows proper initiative to me.

My specific service manager is outstanding, as were my SAs.

Checking in from Dallas around the University Park area. Purchased mine back in Oct 2014. EB M235i, red interior. Surprised to see so many people on this section, I rarely see another 2 series on the road...

Oddly enough, after several months without seeing a single F22 in the wild, I just saw two in a 24 hour period, including this car's exact twin, last night, up at Preston and 121. Estoril, with the CF mirrors, etc...

Despite the mathematical odds, I'd be surprised if it's the same driver.

Submitted for your consideration:

The car Untdrums has now seen twice is parked right next to another vehicle, when there are plenty of other spaces available that no one would park near. Note also that the branding is still on the car.*

This one, however...

...is parked in the most anal retentive car guy way possible -- and I mean that in a good sense. The mirrors are folded, and the wheels are over on a stripe so no one will open a door into the car, which effectively yields almost the same safety net on the other side. That's not to mention the fact that the spot itself is the very definition of BFE: the shops in front of the spot are all closed, so not only is there not another car nearby, it's highly unlikely anyone would park in an adjacent spot.

My mind simply has a hard time reconciling how the same driver, if that indeed turns out to be the case, would exhibit such erratic parking lot behavior.

*I should've made a mental note about that on the car I saw, but I didn't realize at the time there would be a reason to do so.

Hey guys, I'm completely new to the area, and the M235i is the first bimmer I've owned (though I've had a lot of seat time in the e36). I'm in the Flower Mound area, but make it out to Richardson for work.

Good looking cars guys! Welcome to the DFW club.

How do you all feel about a meet sometime? I know there's a regular VW meet every week at a pizza place in the colony near my house. I'm not suggesting a weekly thing but maybe a realistic 6 month thing for people to get info and talk about cars over beers and food.

Anyway, enjoy those 2's everyone!

I'd definitely be down to do a meet. Maybe could learn some things from you guys and just meet people in general as I just moved here in January
