High pitch whine in 2nd Gear

Hey guys,

I recently picked up a 2016 M235i ZF8 with 25k miles on it. I noticed that in 2nd gear, regardless of driving mode or throttle application, I hear a whine when the RPMs are at or above 3k. It is only in second gear and no whine until after 3k RPMs. It almost sounds like a supercharger type of whine. I had the same car before and didn't notice this issue. Does anyone know what the issue or could be??

The car is still under new car warranty and has CPO until 2021, so I will be covered by the dealership.

I've done a little research into this. Noticed it when i was lapping the car and riding second gear, after about the 5th lap she really started to whine. Turns out to be not super common but it happens. Haven't heard of any transmissions blowing up. Very concerning though.
