Absolutely love it! The render seems to have e46 proportions with all the good looks of the 6er GC.
BMW: Please give us a 220d, a 228i (with sexier engine noises), a 240i, and an M2. Size it between the e36 and e46. Offer a mechanical LSD, a short-shifter, plenty of go-fast goodies and watch how fast the enthusiasts come roaring back! |

This is how the new 3er (F30) should look like; okay, the new 3D nose could still be added.
I really wonder on the BMW design; the new cars like 7er and 5er are beautiful. After the harmonic form of the new 5er, they have made the new F30 3er that looks as glued together from two completely different cars. The body is that of a classic sedan, the nose (bonnet) looks like a reinterpretation or a cheap Chinese copy of a Ferrari FF. I got the F30 3er catalogue and I visited the showroom, however I could not bring myself to order the new 3er; a tragedy for BMW considering that mechanically it's the best car on the market. The new F30 3er has a disturbing design (aka Disturbia from Rihanna; it may be a hit, however I don't want it in my house). Anyway; again a beautiful render; like the most beautiful 1er Active Tourer Concept, 5er, 7er, X6, X5. On the other hand the ugly 1er, Disturbia F30 3er, X1, X3. Now I understand why Scott26 gave the title Jeklly and Hide to the rendering of the 2er. The designers at BMW have a split personality; they make or truly handsome cars or ugly Disturbia ones. |

I agree it looks good (almost makes me regret getting an F21..) but I'm not sure if it's realistic. If this is based on the F20 platform it would have a very small cabin

I like the lines of the car. The front looks good actually.
I just don't know what is the purpose of this car. To me this car is pointless...I'm guessing it will be somewhere between 1 Series and 3 Series... and I would go for the 3 Series all day long. Opinions ? |

This car will cost too much for its size, just like Ipad Mini.
but if used.... I'm tempted between this: and this:

Small cars have quite a few advantages. They are usually lighter with better handling. They are easier to park and drive around narrow city streets. It takes less time to clean it. It takes less time to heat it up or cool it down. It is less likely to get stuck in slippery conditions. It consumes less energy/fuel. It pollutes less. It has less brake lining and tire wear. Did you ever see a review of a Ferrari 458 where it was mentioned that you could get a larger car for less money? The F30 (3-series) would have to be significantly cheaper than the F20 for me to even consider buying one. It is simply too large. |
