This thing about fully compressing the belt tensioner 3 times so it gives good service life...could there be a shred of truth to it, or is tensioner life more dependent on your hairstyle?

It's in the service manual/ISTA, I believe.Though it never really seems to work for me and I always end up going by feel instead of counting clicks

Like Sreten, I was also skeptical of the efficacy of pre-loctited bolts and screws. . .

I was a bit bemused by the loctite thing. Of course some of it gets spat out when you put the bolt in, but there's still enough there to do the job. The bigger issue for me is the prospect of chunklets of loctite getting sprinkled into the nice clean engine...
