Steering wheel plastic noise?
Noticed my steering wheel on my '16 M235i is making a lot of noise (from the hollow plastic) literally whenever you touch it, turn it, pull on it, push on it, etc etc.
Literally just slightly moving it you get a "crack" sound (like someone squishing an empty water bottle). Is this normal? Is the plastic on these steering wheels supposed to make this much noise?! |

yeah this has been one of my main complaints. I had the whole bottom piece plus the surrounding trim around the airbag replaced. It has gotten much better but still not perfect.

Haven't experienced this issue at all. However, I had an obnoxious noise coming from the paddle shifters. I had them replaced under warranty and the noise went away. Bring it to the dealership and ask them to replace the parts.

YES! This has been driving me insane and is my #1 complaint about the car (2016 228i msport with THP). Kevinf, did you have the plastic replaced under warranty?

Yeah i'm gonna have them replace the steering wheel, it's so fucking annoying. Every time I pull or push on the wheel or turn you hear a slight "creak" like someone is slowly trying to crush an empty water bottle.
That and the damn vents. Anyone else notice the same sound coming from the vents / dash area? Like in the center around where the screen and the vents meet? Am I going crazy? I am, aren't I? |
