Where to see snow near Ft Bragg NC?

I'll be driving up to see my parents next week and being a native Floridian, would love to see some snow up in the mountains. They haven't lived there long so they're not sure where to go either.

Any ideas that are within 2-3 hours of Ft Bragg? I'm assuming up north somewhere but any parks/areas in specific?

Ft. Bragg (Fayetteville) isn't anywhere close to the mountains in NC - you'll likely need to go to the Asheville area. I'm in the Wilmington area (80 mi. SE of Fayetteville) and in the 7 years I've been here, we've only had 1 snow (5") that lasted 2 days. Weather.com says that Raleigh may have "AM snow showers" on Dec. 25, but probably won't amount to much with a high of 41 degrees that day. Safe travels!
