JB4 issues
Installed JB4 the other day.
Stage 2 version, on my 2016 M235i with EWG + OBD2 cable first problem is that I can't change maps from the wheel. Holding "Volume_Down" or "BC" buttons does absolutely nothing then I got the usb cable and I managed to change the map from 1 to 2 I can tell it works, driving experience is different now. I updated the JB4's firmware to the latest one and it did not resolve the map changing issue. Second issue is that logging via usb cable doesn't work properly. it only logs boost and couple of other values. majority of values just stay 0 or never change (as you see on the picture) any ideas? does it have something to do with DME version? is it faulty jb4? http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthr...6#post_1147932 This here is the closest I could find to my problem, but I still don't understand how to fix it. Please help |

Idk if it would help, but on the REV3 bluetooth connect there is a debug file under settings.. never used it but might be worth a look if you have that via the cable.. in any case if this hapened to my JB4 id head straight to N54 tech support thread assuming you havnt already. Gonna follow to learn more about what's causing this.

Obd2 uses can bus. You cannot chnage via the volume. You need to hold down the "bc" on the indicator stock. This will get you into the menu. A series of holds and clicks will get you through the different settings.

And you have the car type, engine, etc setup correctly in the software?
If it's not then it won't log correctly. I use the mobile app so not entirely sure what needs to happen for the laptop logging to work correctly. Make sure the logging software is updated and the JB4 firmware. Are you sure that you have the OBDII plugged in on both sides?!?! Even data points that do show up in the example log you're showing is not accurate.

Did you possibly ground out the usb cable when connected to JB4.?
You should consider purchasing the rev 3 Bluetooth adapter for easier logging and adjustment. The bluetooth adaptor is worth its weight in gold if you ask me. It works seamlessly on iOS (cant speak for Android). |
