HELP! M235i, one long beam is not working!!!
Dear All,
I need your help and thoughts ASAP!!! My m235i was in a minor accident. A guy pulled out on a red light and hit me on my left side. Luckily we weren't driving fast. So insurance will cover everything. This happened before the holidays and I needed my car, so i kindly ask them if I can do the whole repair after the holidays, and they confirmed that there wouldn't be any issues. So i was driving my car with a bruise for 2 weeks. Everything seemed fine. The Only issue was that my left headlight was slightly turned down. The brightness was perfect and the adaptive thing worked. So they replaced: whole new bumper, side and a new light. When I picked up my car, everything seemed perfect. But than when it got dark and I had to use my long beam I noticed that the left headlight was pointing at the ground! So immediately I went to the dealer ship the next day. They said that they adjusted it, but there was a problem with the light. At high beam the left one is working on 4 luminous and the right one was at 40 luminous... At this point I freaked out because all was good with the brightness until they tried to fix it! I remained calm and asked them so what do you thing that it might be? They said it's probably form the accident and we need to change (some other part that I don't remember). I'm really confused how they can't just up the brightens because I see tons of cooding on how they just apm up the lights. I'm really angry and depressed because I have a feeling like they are playing me just so they can sell more parts and do more labor hours... Please if anyone has any experience with such a problem tell me what was going on! Sorry for the long post! P.S. the other car from the accident was a Opel Insignia, and my god it was destroyed from the front... Can't believe that I ended with so little damage. Kinde regards. |

Brightness cannot be coded. You're probably thinking of the halos being adjustable by coding. The headlights are different. They work on a constant voltage. It is likely that they need to replace either ballast or the bulb.
