JB+ or DINANTRONICS Sport Performance Tuner for 15' M235I

Hello I was wondering if i should do the DINANTRONICS Sport Performance Tuner. or the JB+ both are simple plug and play but the Dinan is $100 more because of the bluetooth iphone app. My far has the N55 engine.

here are the links to both.
iv heard that the dinan has a better chance of not getting caught with warranty issues.

http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...ries&mid=1183/

http://www.burgertuning.com/f_series...all_tuner.html

Who has done one of them and can direct me which to go with.

They are indentical except with the Dinan you can change boost using bluetooth, with JB+ you need to use the handle on the tune.

To me Dinan is not worth the extra $100 since you will not be changing boost often. You will probably just keep it a +4 psi all the time

Warranty is not an issue for either one, just take it off before your visit.
It takes less than 20 seconds

I have the Dinan but no experience with the JB4. Here's what I can say.

Install was simple. 10 minutes.

I run it in +4 most of the time, but there were a couple of scenarios when I changed the setting.

1. I changed it back to the stock setting when I took it in for oil service at the dealer but was too lazy to take the tuner out. It was nice being able to do that sitting in the driver's seat in 15 degree weather on the way to drop it off. Maybe it was stupid of me to not just take it out, but whatever, it was just an oil service.

2. My car is RWD and I do have Dunlop snow tires, but the torque in that car breaks them loose in certain conditions no matter how careful I am applying throttle, so I turn it off for snow driving. I actually even put it in Eco Pro mode believe or not...guess I could have also flipped it to the Valet mode on the tuner but didn't think about it before.

3. The lag is much more prominent than stock and when the power kicks in, you take off. This was problematic for me at first at the track so I needed to adjust. It was nice being able to use the app to do that.

I think the convenience the app has provided me is worth $100.

They actually just came out with the iPhone app relatively recently. I got mine mid summer and had to keep stealing my daughter's Galaxy when I wanted to change the setting, which annoyed both of us.

Do you have an ounce of a chance that you will upgrade performance parts later? For example if you decide to get a catless DP then you will have to go with a JB4 or flash or cel delete etc. Point is if you might upgrade parts Id recommend saving the $100 and getting the JB+. Like Mike said, I suppose most people will set it and forget it. No need to adjust boost, you bought it for more of it? Will note it has been stated many of times, oem charge pipe likes to pop off with more boost, even if only 4psi. Something to consider.

Can I semi-hijack this thread - I am looking at the same options - JB+ v. Dinan, but I am EXTREMELY conservative with the warranty issue. Does anyone know if there is ANY chance the JB+/Dinan would cause codes to be generated? (obviously I would remove the device prior to service). I read that the JB4 can "clear codes" and the JB+ (and Dinan) presumably can't - I am willing to pay the extra money for a JB4 to get the "code clearing function" if that is necessary but otherwise really do NOT want to deal with the installation and de-installation of the JB4 (will never put downpipes or intercooler or any other tune on the car).

Once you remove the tune you are fine on any of the options mentioned.

If you ever get a code, remove the tune and take it to the dealership so they can check it out. They will never know you had a tune on the car
