CG Precision DS-1 DP No Longer An Option. Need DP Advice

Hi Everyone,

So I had placed my order for the CG Precision DS-1 DP for the M240, but it seems like order fulfillment may be pushed back all the way to 2022. High demand no supply. For that reason I've decided to go for another option but I cannot decide. It's between ActiveAutowerke (400 Cell) or Evo Racewerks (200 Cell) or Fabspeed (Most Expensive but is it worth it?)

Or I could go with Evo Racewerks Catless DP but I have not seen any sound clips or reviews for this DP in regard to the M240. Please help me reach a decision! I plan to tune the car with BM3 so I am not worried about the CEL.

Thanks!!

I've had the AA catted dp for over a year now - zero complaints - paired with Remus resonated cat back.

AA OK -- Wagner ?

Why no love for the Wagner? If you a putting on a downpipes are you not tuned?

If so -- do you really need the NO Cell guarantee?
.
My guess is that the 7/4 Sales will be really good on the Wagner.
.
I have the Wagner on an N55 and Love It. CG-1 would have been my 2nd choice over the Wagner -- only because of price. CG-1 Cats are suppose to be HJS same as Wagner on B58 unit.
.
I would look into what / who makes the Cats on the Wagner for B58 application.

I asked Mike @ x-ph about this because I was hoping that was for new orders not existing. Im in the same boat as you with an early April order.

I'll either look at AA or Wagner. Or prioritize spending the money elsewhere like an axleback which I planned to do after the downpipe.

Wagner is definitely another respectable option. And I checked

"200CPSI EU6 Racing Metal Catalytic Converter / optionally with HJS-catalyst (ECE approval) or without catalyst converter"

I checked with Speed Industry and even they said it may be 2022 until we see stock available. AA, Wagner or EvoRacewerks. All great options. But I can't choose. I wish there were more soundclips available on the internet for those installed them in the M240. We have till July 1st to get AA before price increases.

If the car is flash tuned, I recommend either Wagner or Evolution Racewerks Both high-quality options at a reasonable price.

If the car is stock or uses a piggyback, get the Active Autowerke or else there is a high risk of the check the engine light.

No need to pay a premium on a HFC if it doesn’t come with a CEL guarantee, because at that point, what does it matter?

AA would be my go to, otherwise literally anything else would work.

How's the lead time for Wagner at the moment? They are 200 cell and uses HJS. I plan to flash tune so CEL can be wiped out. If it's a month or less, I'd love to order that over AA.

Correct that's because its flash tuned and you have the AA downpipe. Both do not throw a CEL

Basically if you’re running BM3/MHD - no cat or HFC will throw a code, so pick accordingly.

This thing is solid! Hoping for install in the next week along with the Dinan Intake. Planning to make a video with the before and after.

Only if you tell them to suppress the CEL.

Fully aware -I don't suppress it with the tune - and haven't popped a CEL yet.

Well yeah, you have a HFC with a CEL guarantee, so I'm not sure what you're arguing?

@4Hockey4 said in another thread, "it was about 20% louder on cold starts and I'd say 10% louder at higher RPM's, maybe more." Now that was about his M235i and a different brand catted downpipe but I think thats pretty accurate.

Upon start up I definitely noticed the increase in volume. While cruising there isn't a massive change which is why I will probably get a Remus muffler next. I'd like to drive around and hear the exhaust without going speeding ticket speeds. But when you're at those speeds you'll definitely notice an increase in power and volume for the better. Of course no CEL but if that ever changes Ill report back. The one interesting thing to note is that there is a tiny increase in smell. I shouldn't have been surprised given its a 200 cell and thats where the high flow comes from, but its something I forgot all about until I started it up for the first time. If OEM is a 0 and Catless is a 10, I'd say this is a 3 or 4 on the smellometer.

The intake is very noticeable while revving but gets drowned out by wind and exhaust noises at speed. Still happy with that purchase though.

Looking forward to driving more and providing more impressions!

I'm using the CTS 200cell with a small spacer on the rear O2 and my car has satisfied readiness and passed NJ inspect.
Without spacer, no readiness.
Problem solved...

And here I am with a CEL after a few hundred miles with the CG catted downpipe

I reset it thinking it was just the car learning the new cat but it came back so Ill have to figure out what to do next.

You tried small spacer on downstream 02?
