They're pops now as opposed to burbles. At times I can also hear a turbo spool noise and i'm happy with that considering i'm not catless. Have been getting some gas smell recently especially right after starting but it goes away and it's more of a gas smell than a poison smell you'd have from catless and i actually like it. I feel like there was a little break-in period like most other exhuast mods so it sounds better as it breaks in. Love how the car sounds right now. Don't have a CEL and hope that it won't come on as gauranteed. Hoping to see power improvements once i decide what tuning platform to go with hope this helps

Thanks for the details. Appreciate the time to take the clip as well. I ordered one yesterday morning, hoping to install myself. Here in my area, all the euro "specialists" want to do 3 hours job putting it on. Can definitely be done in an hour.

No problem and hope you enjoy it! I got mine installed for $165. Shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours. My car was at the shop for a while though because it needed to cool down so definitely do the install in the morning!

Yeah 1-2 hour max, I drove to the shop 1/2 hour before they opened so just parked and read until they opened - then rolled in.

I’m really bummed because I spent $1k because of the no CEL guarantee... yet I still got one, and I’m short $300 on the install.

I’m also open to ideas on how to get rid of the CEL. I’m seeing mixed reviews on the O2 spacer (L and straight) on the B58. Some say it works, other say it doesn’t.
Hey man, any update on your situation? Have been a little nervous since seeing your last post..

With being 49 state legal and no CEL guarantee, is this downpipe guaranteed to pass PA state emissions tests?

Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on PA emission laws

Anyone running this downpipe with the active autowerke axleback only? Curious to see how those two paired will sound. Looking into going with the autowerke axleback

I just got the car back from the install. Definitely no turbo lag now but a very different power curve. Pulls a bit harder up top but I feel like I might need a custom map. Mhd stage 1 cut about 2/10ths of a second and this dp cut another half but I'm still getting used to the feeling, very different. What is everyone else running software wise with this downpipe?

Car has started to sound better and smell sliiiightly more as I've put more miles on the cat. Hope this is just part of the break-in process.

Even more smell now. The worst smell is during cold start and for a while till it's warmed up. even then it still smells a little. Hope this is not sign of the cat failing.. It smells significantly more than day 1. Not sure if that's normal across the board...?

It sounds like you need to check your installation for leaks or a bad gasket

Okay. I can go get it checked if you think that can be the issue but a shop did it so they'll probably charge me to diagnose. I had them use a new gasket supplied by you guys and they normally do good work but I obviously didn't watch the whole install. How much is this downpipe supposed to smell? I thought a 300 cel would smell less than this to be honest but the smell has increased so something might be wrong...? If this is just the DP "breaking in" I could probably learn to live with it but I want to be sure nothings wrong. I remember day 1 even on cold starts standing behind the car I wouldn't smell much. Now I definietly notice it and at red lights with the windows down. Thanks, all feedback appreciated!

Also.. I've been very careful and paranoid of "warming up the cat" before putting the car in sport as I'm afraid even the stock burbles could damage the cold cat. Is this a baseless anxiety I have or should I continue "warming up" in comfort and getting some heat into the cat before any burbles?

it depends on how sensitive you are to the smell, most do not even notice any smell with the catted downpipe

I don't notice the smell. Only once I smelled it when I stood outside close to the rear idling but wasn't that bad. How is the car performing now @kianf22

Performance has not been an issue. On cold start if you walk out back the car smells like it's pretty much straight piped. Very similar to a friend of mines catless m235i. If you allow it to warm up a bit the smell goes down but it's still there. I'm not overly sensitive to smell either.. it definietly was not like this day 1 and week 1. I guess it's fine if it's part of the "breaking in" process, I just hope it's not a sign of the cat failing.

No, unfortunately not yet. Have still been busy at work. Would like to find someone local (Seattle area) to install so I don't have to.
