Rear view mirror power

So I just hardwired my radar using a mirror tap to the rain sensor behind my rear view mirror. My base model 2015 M235i only had the rain sensor to tap into, no autodimming or any other connectors. Does anyone know if the rain sensor harness loses power after the car is shut down? Maybe after a certain amount of time?

I just parked the car and went into a store for about 5 minutes and when I came back, my radar was still turned on. I don’t want this to end up killing my battery so any insight would be great.

These cars take a while, usually 15 minutes to go to sleep. Shut down the engine, lock up the car and wait 20 minutes. Check the detector then.

My m235 I went mirror harness and it's off right away. X5 did rain sensor and that's like 15 mins. Both shut down fine - eventually.

Can confirm, after waiting about 10-15 minutes the radar did shut off. Thanks for the help everyone.

Having an issue with 18 M2. Just did a wire tap for my RD into the rain sensor (top small connector) and after turning off the car, then pressing on/off to kill radio etc, my RD still gets power for over 12 minutes plus, any suggestions?

I'm not sure if anything has changed from 2015 to 2018, but I found if you don't remove the key from the car it won't switch off. What I did to test was park at home, roll down drivers window, shut car completely off and go inside to put the key away. I came back to check and after about 5 minutes and the radar was shut off. If you the radar isn't shutting off after you've moved the key far enough away then something has changed or is different.
