Whirring sound when pressing accelerator

Hi, I tried to record the sound so here's a link to the video:
. This is in a 2016 BMW M235i with automatic transmission. In the vid I'm driving down the road at a pretty constant speed and then when I press down on the gas pedal, there's a whirring/humming sound (first one is around the 10 second mark). The sound goes away as soon as I take my foot off the gas. The video is pretty quiet so you'll have to turn it up.

Anyone have any ideas what would be causing my car to make this sound?

I can’t hear much in the video. But if happens on throttle and sounds like it’s coming from under the arm rest or under the rear floor, it could be the parking brake cable retention clip. Very common failure and the first DIY I had to undertake after I bought my ‘17. The plastic clip embrittles and breaks, leaving the cable housing to drag on the drive shaft. The metal AGA tools repair kit is the way to go if indeed that’s your issue.

How much time or miles passed before you had to replace the clip?

The car had about 22k mi / 4 years on it at purchase and I noticed the issue immediately. No idea how long the PO had been driving around with it that way. (Records suggest it had barely been driven at all in the prior year.)

From the videos I've been able to find of the parking brake issue, it seems like a harsher sound than what I'm experiencing. Mine seems like it's coming from the passenger side by the wheel instead of from the console. I'll try to get a better recording of it and post it later
