No, it doesn't affect the kickdown or throttle at all.....the throttle mechanism is on the center of the pedal and the slip ons just cover a small piece of the border of the pedal so the slip ons never touch any piece of the floor or anything else...

As I was installing, I noticed that the original factory brake cover had a huge lip on the right side that was missing from the ebay m-performance ones. Does anyone know if the official ones have this lip, or what that lip is actually for?

there are a few variants... some have the metal wrapping lip around the pedal, some don't...
Don't really think it makes any difference... from 3 feet away you probably can't tell anyway http://www.ebay.com/itm/321477694411...84.m1436.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-No-drill...item2a40bbcad3 |

Not to second guess your choice, but I would recommend going with the drilled pedal covers ... mostly for safety reasons, and perhaps also for durability. I know the no-drill ones are so much easier to install, and I myself considered them, but long-term, I think the drilled ones are better for you. Just my 2 cents.

Figured whats $45 at this point if they don't work out. Fully acknowledge I'm taking the easy way out and may regret it. BTW, did your car get on a boat yet? I'm still waiting for the dock workers to go on strike as my car approaches the port in a couple weeks...
