I just got the Amazon ones as well. Took about 30 seconds to get both on.

The brake pedal simply replaces the slip on pedal that is the stock one. So just like OEM, just steel. The gas pedal slips over stock one.

They look to me as good as any other steel pedal. I wouldn't spend the extra $80 for the BMW steel pedals as they look about the same and the BMW one requires drilling, which what's the point particularly when the stock brake pedal is slip on to begin with? To each their own, but these look much better than the black rubber ones and much like my RW Carbon mirror caps they are a cosmetic mod that look to me as good as the much pricier BMW alternatives.

Got the Amazon pedals... 60 second install, solid, look great.

I'd feel like a fool if I'd paid 400% more for some 'genuine' pedals.

I just got these as well. They are great for something down in my foot well that I am stepping on and getting dirty.

I'd say quality is 7 out of 10. Definitely a lot higher than I was expecting for $25 from amazon.

If I ever feel the need to swap them out I'll prob get some of the ones on bimmian for $70 as oposed to OEM for well over $100

I just bought these from Amazon to try out. Thought they were Amazon prime and I'd get them in 2 days...nope...they're shipping from China and won't be here until December 2-24th. So I'll tell you how they are at least a month.

Yeah, apparently there were 2 sellers; one was Amazon prime and the other China. For some reason it defaulted to the one from China for me and I didn't notice until I got the tracking number.

Haha such a good thread... The comments made me giggle!

So there's only the BREAK & GAS pedals? What about the foot-rest? Very keen to order these definitely beats the original rubber and for this price being slip on definitely a winner...

Screwing and doing attone of stuff doesn't seem very nice for something thats supposed to be OEM.

You'd think the fakes needed to be bolted on and the genuine M Performance would be the slip on ones... Geez

Foot rest comes standard with the M235i...not sure where you can get it other than OEM if you have the 228i.

The M footrest is also standard on the 228i M Sport.

I may be in the minority here but I actually like the fact that the OEM version uses screws for securing pedal covers.
It does take longer for installation but it is just a one time deal and any one with the right drill bits should take less than 15 minutes to complete the install.
It is also comforting to know that those flat head looking screws are real ones and not faux or fake ones.

Not quite sure I understand the logic here but to each his own I suppose. There is absolutely no discernible difference in a real screw vs the other. Also it's not about the installation time, it's about what $75 difference gets you. The answer is nothing.

There is visible difference between OEM and replica ones.
The most noticeable one is on the gas pedal one.
On the OEM metal portion wraps completely around left edge and on the replica ones are only partial.
Having real screws has the advantage that the petal insert has less chance of falling off.
I have bought a lot of knock-off and replica items and I have never found one that have matched quality of OEM ones.
I will also be aware of anything made of plastic or rubber because knock-off ones tend to fail or wear quicker.
I just bought some replica wheel caps and I can tell that they won't last as long as OEM ones.

The quality is negligibly different. Virtually no difference at all in fact. With regards to failing or wearing quicker, I can buy 5 more sets of these for the price of the OEM set.

If having a slip on brake cover is so dangerous, why did BMW provide them standard on the car to start with? The reps are not going anywhere.

Slip on brake cover that BMW provides is only rubber one and does not have metal insert.
You can buy OEM set for under $100 so are these replicas selling for $16.67 (100/6)?

Cute math to try to prove your point. Let me rephrase, I can buy 4.21 more sets of reps. No place is selling OEM for under $100, at least not without shipping.

Enjoy your 228 with 'OEM BMW M Performance Stainless Steel Pedals', and I'll enjoy my M235 with knock off pedals. I'll take the latter any day.

Try contacting sunmotorsbmw and you can get them for under $100.
Interesting that I didn't know you were driving M235i but I still prefer more nimble 228i.

Little update on my 1-2 month china delivery. Just got them in yesterday so it only took about 2 weeks which was quite the surprise.

First impression is they look fine for foot pedals. The quality is just okay, the stainless parts (not even sure if they are stainless lol) look like they are just stamped out so the edges are rough (aka sharp) but since I will only be touching them with shoes that should not be an issue.

For $23 I am happy with them and glad I got them over the $100 oem ones, especially since they just slipped on. I will see how they hold up in the coming winter.

As we said before, the slip on ones are not the same quality as OEM. On a $50k+ car, I went for the M Performance ones.

Footrest is only for LHD, us poor RHD markets don't get it.
