I am looking for a Carbon Fiber vinyl wrap that closely matches the M Performance/Alcantra CF trim pieces. I am missing the center console piece and want to wrap my oem piece to match. Any help is appreciated!

I used VViVid dry carbon from amazon. Great wrap and easy to work with.

what’s underneath that wrap? something smooth, or the textured aluminum? did you remove the piece to wrap?

Yes, I removed the complete section which can be accessed from underneath via the glove box. For that particular section, no tools are required. Just wedge your fingers underneath the piece and slowly but firmly pull outward starting with the end near the passenger door.

The door handles and center section will need pry tools to remove. And I applied using a heat gun to soften up the wrap to make it more pliable and easier to wrap around the edges. And make sure you have a very sharp hobby knife to cut clean edges near the molds.

Just the standard OEM laminated wood grain. Cleaned it with just a wet paper towel, dried, then wrapped. Simple.

Ah. Mine's the aluminum, I'm fearful it wouldn't cover well because it's textured.

I should just buy the piano black and be done with it.

It'll work with the alum too. I have a buddy who did it to his and it came out great. The VViVid dry is pretty thick and I would think it'd cover up blemishes like scratches without showing through. It's like $14-15 for a 18"x60" roll, enough to do all your interior trim, so you might as well give it a swing. If you don't like the outcome, peel it off.

i used same to wrap the steering wheel silver inserts to match the rest of the mperf dry carbon interior pieces. Came out really good if you take your time.

Matches really good too!

I bought the real CF piece, but you need to take the steering wheel off to change it.

i used this link:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Premium-3D-...53.m2749.l2649

There are really no differences with the dry CF pattern, its the wet ones that you need to pay attention too.

get a free plastic removal tool, squeegy and box cutter!

True this ^

The dry is close to M Performance. It's not a perfect match but it's pretty close. I doubt a regular non-BMW person would notice. $10 a roll rather than spending $600+. Use that $600 and mod your car!

How much would one need to wrap all the wood tone parts?

Thanks in advance.

I got the 18"x60" and it was way more than enough with probably more than half to spare. You should be able to easily finish with a 12x60 but I'd recommend 18x60 just in case you mess up and need to redo. And you'll want to wrap other things lying around for the hell of it!

I purchased a 12"x 60" roll of the VViVid vinyl carbon with intentions of wrapping my trim but took the plunge and bought the M Perf CF trim kit instead. As many have said on this thread already, it a pretty good match to the M Perf CF. If anyone is interested in purchasing this and wrapping their interior let me know. I also bought an X-acto knife that will come with the vinyl wrap if you decide to purchase. Asking $20 shipped.
