NOPE, too long of a commute on the highways which 75% is construction zone. Meaning rocks flying everywhere and holes. Also narrow lanes and dealing with constructions trucks and heavy equipment. So I drive my truck instead of enjoying my car.

Daily driver, but wished i had a second car with less than 150hp to drive half of the time. Driving it daily it almost takes the fun out of it for me and the continuos stress of watching for this and that.

Yes, and soon to be our only car.
It will be interesting to deal with hauling things like bikes and Home Depot and dump runs. Seriously looking at a Stealth Hitch for my 1-Up bike rack and maybe one of those platform racks for fall cleanup dump runs. (Hey, I see plenty of Macans etc, at the dump). Lots of moving blankets in the back to attempt to preserve the interior trim.

Mine is the DD, all year with summer performance or dedicated winter tires; as of last year she also gets out on track some (looking into dedicated tires for that this year). In a perfect world, I'd have a 4wd beater for the winter and to take to crappy areas. 3 years in and it still puts a grin on my face every time I get in to drive.

I daily mine as my one and only car. During the winter it gets Michelin X-ice Xi3's and pushes through Reno's snow without any issue. During the summer I swap back to the MPSS's and hit canyon roads. Starting this spring I'll be on modified suspension with a set of dedicated Track/AutoX wheels and tires. So I'm pretty confident this car can do just about everything I want without flinching.

Some days, particularly if it's good convertible weather, I drive the 2; otherwise I drive the M3.

New 2019 M240i xDrive. It has been my daily driver since we bought it, mainly because I wanted to get those break-in miles taken care of. The plan is to switch off with the X3 but I can easily see myself using the 2er more often for commuting due to better MPG and generally more fun to drive (although the M40i X3 is pretty damn fun for an SUV).

My 2016 M235i is my daily driver. There are times when I wish I could baby it and have another car. Especially for winters in the north east. On the other hand I feel very fortunate that I get to drive a fun car like this every day in sun, rain, or snow. Just have to watch out for the potholes.
This was my first new car and it was definitely a little painful when it got those first couple small rock chips on the bumper. All in all very happy with it as a daily driver. |

arhoads, I guess I was lucky then. It was a pre-2001.5 car (June 2000 build) with 270K, original everything. It should be noted that the car was bone stock. I did not chip it or modify it. Even the turbos were never replaced. When i drove it to the new owner, it still pulled like a locomotive. When my mechanic did the APR 6 hour "free test it out" flash to it at 200K (after a timing belt replacement), when I matted it, after getting the oil to 175F, I blew two coils and both flex pipes. After my $1000 free tryout (I redid the ignition with the updated coil packs and removed the ICM's), I decided to keep it stock. It was truly a good car and gave me 14 years of excellent service, which I hope to repeat with my M235. When the original clutch was near the end of its life, I sold it when I bought my M235, which is almost exactly the same size (I wanted to stay small) but substantially improved over the S4 in just about every way, excepting the automatic, which I am still struggling with; the other day I had to hit the brakes hard and shoved both feet to the floor...old habits die hard. The S4 was absolutely bulletproof and at the end of the day (I do a lot of my own work to relax), maintenance expense was about the same as a Camry and it was meticulously maintained. As noted, I was very fortunate as most people tell me the Audi is a POS and a maintenance pig. Not my experience at all. Although it is not in my top 3 favorite cars I have owned, it may have been the best allarounder.

need to invest in timely maintenance -- maybe even over-invest -- when you know its going to be a high-mileage vehicle, but otherwise, dont sweat the miles. enjoy the car!
