Hot off the delivery truck and installed in about 5 minutes. They read more grey in the photos because of the shop lights shining directly over them.

I just had some bumper damage repaired. I thought I'd get my mirrors done too. Five shops gave quotes. Only one said they would paint the caps, and even then, they cautioned the mirror my break during removal making it seem that I'd be buying the replacement. Bumper is repaired and mirrors are still gray. Did you have difficulty finding a shop to paint them?

The perfect time to paint the mirror caps would have been when the shop was repairing the bumper. If you were getting them paint body color anyway. Btw, you don’t need to remove the mirror glass to take off or put on the mirror caps.

Whoa! You don't? That changes everything. The mirror removing part looks risky to me in the videos. How do you get them off and on then?

Thanks!

Slow and gentle prying with either your fingers or a soft plastic trim removal tool. i find it easiest to start in the lower inside corner of the mirror cap (along the turn signal indicator) and gently pry up and keep moving all the way around the cap. Just keep going and it’ll pop right off. Just be quick to catch it from falling on the ground or put down a towel. It seems intimidating at first but is really very easy.

I literally just used my ice scraper to pop the mirror off. There is no reason to be scared of it. It will pop off and right back on. The mirror cap was harder for me because I did it in the freezing cold and the plastic was super hard but I just used my fingers.

Not at all...BMW certified repair shop associated with dealership. They did the work prior to new car delivery. Ask your dealership if they have an associated BMW certified body shop.

Interesting on "just popping off" the mirror caps. The videos make it look like there are clips inside that need to be squeezed to release and maybe even spread out to relatch.

I’m sure the plastic will give which is how people just pop them off. On a warm day it’s probably not a problem. I removed the mirrors and because of the cold still had trouble getting the caps off. Ymmv I suppose.

Found these on Amazon for $125 CDN last month (looks like the price has gone up now):
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They were delivered in a few days and simple to put on! Total cost about $100 USD.
