Assuming you don't have one, get the LSD. I used to think the 245s were the issue with my M235's traction problems in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd regardless of mode including DSC Off. Turns out the issue the was mostly the open diff. Once I added the LSD, it felt like a added 500lbs+ to the rear axle and it's MUCH more difficult to break traction. Almost to the point that the car feels slower because there's less wheel spin drama

I have so much more faith in the car now, straights or turns. I'm still learning it's higher limits and at the limit traits.

I thought "I could pass this guy before the yellow starts but everyone would think I'm a jerk". (I didn't actually think "jerk".)

I was behind a uncovered dump truck full of gravel that didn't signal as he moved to the on ramp lane, the second he was over I floored it to get in front of him was a long ramp only lane).

I'd echo the above.

After running-in my retro-fitted LSD to my M235i I today drove it up a long series of Swiss Alpine hairpins from the valley: 1,000 vertical metres over 13Kms. (3,280ft over 8 US miles).

The car should have had an LSD as standard, given it's power output. By all means search for the best summer rubber and perhaps consider 19" wheels, but budget in an LSD before you start to look at further upgrades.

Why does the rear end squeak when I first sit in the car? Is it already time to swap some bushings out?

Why when changing the song via the steering wheel, next is the top option; but when changing via iDrive, next is the bottom option?

#2 is the coolant reservoir for the air to water intercooler. It is separate from the main reservoir. You can’t open it because you didn’t eat your Wheaties.

And #1 is used for diesel models no function on gas cars.

Not too happy with my BMW 2 series today.
Stuck in Las Vegas waiting for a charge pipe to be delivered and installed so I can get home.
My first real road trip to visit family over the 4th, 30k miles on the odometer and the charge pipe explodes 200 miles half the distance between Salt Lake City, UT and Las Vegas,NV. Pretty pissed off. Not sure I can trust the car on an extended drive again.
The service writer at the dealership says they have replaced a few charge pipes on other m235i's, should this have been addressed by BMW USA by this time?
Although all The Dinan tuning, cold air and exhaust was installed at a Dinan certified BMW dealership in California the service writer at the las Vega dealership may not perform the repairs under warranty, wait and see Monday....pretty pissed.
Needless to say if I replace the stock charge pipe with an aftermarket, more reliable, charge pipe the dealership service writer said BMW USA will void my warranty......sucks.
My Dodge PU with 600k Miles, my 2008 Ford Fusion with 130k miles and never an engine problem with either, never stranded.
Is there a reliability an issue on these cars I haven't read/heard about?
Will be thinking long and hard if this BMW will remain in my garage.
Did I say I'm pretty pissed?

Why everybody either tailgates me or cuts me off. Why so many cars are sold without working turn signals.

I've never seen so many as there are in Cincinnati - like 98.31% - must be some kind of magnetism-in-the-Earth thing.

A wise man once said, "Sh!t happens."

Charge pipe failures are common in the 2 and 3 series cars and is probably by far the most common stranding issue you're likely to face. The fact that you've got a boost increasing mod only makes the failure more common.

No, these cars don't have reliability issues. This is a small beans problem that's easily fixed. I highly doubt BMW would deny warranty coverage due to a an aftermarket charge pipe. Never read anything like that on the either the 2 or 3 series forums.

Why is the CEL back? Probably because of "High Manifold Pressure" again. I'm probably going back to stock with this one engine wise. Who wants the JB Stage 1?

I was thinking... what are other people thinking while they are at a stoplight staring at my car? What are they thinking when driving in the opposite direction breaking their necks in order to get a second glance. LOL!

That's only for B58 engine. (Not for N55 in M235)

BTW, the 2nd cooling circuit also cools the AC condenser. The coolant goes through the AC condenser first, then goes to CAC.

So, keep you AC off if you want more power.

Saw a guy with one of those little ///M badges stuck on the hyphen of their license plate and thought "some of you guys out there just aren't accessorizing enough".

And where the hell did all the Saabs come from? I'm seeing two or three a day lately, and not just the same 2 or 3. Did they just use a Saab in a Fast'N'Furious movie or something?

I thought about buying a hyphen for my license plate (3M3RTX3) but couldn't decide where to put it.

Also thought about how irritating it is to pass some sloth and then have them pull up alongside at the next light, probably thinking bad thoughts about me.

Then I thought "I'm in a BMW convertible and you're not."
